This camcorder has a 2-way power supply system. You can use either the AC adapter or a battery pack. To charge the battery pack, insert it into the camcorder, connect the AC adapter, and plug it into an AC outlet. The CHARGE lamp indicates charging status. During charging, the camcorder cannot be operated.
Adjust the grip strap for a comfortable hold. Ensure your hand can easily reach the recording controls.
Set the power switch to 'A' or 'M' while pressing the lock button. Pull out the viewfinder and turn the Dioptre Adjustment Control until the image is clear.
Align the tripod screw with the camera's mounting socket and tighten. Use a stable tripod and extend its legs for stability.
Set the power switch to 'M' and access the menu. Navigate to DISPLAY, then CLOCK ADJ. to set the date and time. The camcorder has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery for the clock.
With the camcorder powered on, slide OPEN/EJECT to open the cassette holder. Insert or remove the tape and press PUSH HERE to close the holder. Be careful not to touch internal components. Ensure the erase protection tab is set to 'SAVE' to protect recordings.

| MEMORY IS FULL | Appears when the memory card is full and shooting is not possible. |
| INSERT ERROR! | Appears if Insert Editing is attempted on a blank portion or in LP mode. |
| COPYING FAILED | Appears during failed copying operations (e.g., copyguard signals, unformatted card, condensation). |
| MEMORY CARD! | Appears if a memory card is not loaded when SNAPSHOT is pressed in DSC mode. |
| PLEASE FORMAT | Appears when there is a problem with the memory card and it needs to be initialized. |
| NO FILES STORED | Appears if no image or video clip files are stored in the memory card. |
| NO SOUND FILES | Appears if no sound files are stored in the memory card. |
| Unsupported file! | Appears when an unsupported file format is selected. |
| E01-E06 | Error indications showing malfunctions. Turn off and on again. If persists, consult dealer. |
| CARD ERROR! | Appears if the camcorder takes too long to recognize the memory card. Remove and reinsert. If persists, card is corrupted. |
| CHECK CARD'S WRITE PROTECTION SWITCH | Appears when attempting to shoot stills with a copy-protected SD Memory Card. |
