GETTING STARTED

Power

Charge the battery pack using the AC adapter. Connect the AC adapter to the camcorder and plug it into an AC outlet. The power lamp indicates charging status.

Grip Adjustment

Adjust the grip strap for comfortable handling and access to controls.

Viewfinder Adjustment

Set the power switch to 'A' or 'M' and pull out the viewfinder. Adjust for optimal viewing clarity.

Tripod Mounting

Align the tripod screw with the camcorder's mounting socket and tighten.

Loading/Unloading a Cassette

Power on the camcorder. Slide and hold OPEN/EJECT to open the cassette holder. Insert or remove the tape and close the holder.

Date/Time Settings

Access the menu, select 'CAMERA DISPLAY', then 'CLOCK ADJ.' to set the date and time.

Recording Mode Setting

Access the menu, select 'CAMERA', then 'REC MODE'. Choose 'SP' or 'LP' for recording mode.

Loading a Memory Card

Ensure the camcorder is off. Open the card cover and insert the memory card.

Picture Quality/Image Size Setting

Set the VIDEO/MEMORY switch to 'MEMORY'. Access the menu, select 'DSC', then 'QUALITY' and 'IMAGE SIZE' to adjust settings.

TAPE RECORDING & PLAYBACK

Basic Recording

Remove the lens cap. Set the VIDEO/MEMORY switch to 'VIDEO' and the power switch to 'A' or 'M'. Press the recording start/stop button.

Zooming

Turn the Power Zoom Ring clockwise to zoom in and counterclockwise to zoom out.

Normal Playback

Load a tape. Set the VIDEO/MEMORY switch to 'VIDEO' and the power switch to 'PLAY'. Press the play button.

Blank Search

Useful for finding recording start points to avoid time code interruption. Press BLANK SEARCH to initiate.

Connections

Connect the camcorder to a TV or VCR using the provided cables. Ensure correct video out select switch settings.

MEMORY CARD RECORDING & PLAYBACK

Basic Shooting (Snapshot)

Set VIDEO/MEMORY switch to 'MEMORY' and power switch to 'A' or 'M'. Press SNAPSHOT.

Normal Playback

Load a memory card. Set VIDEO/MEMORY to 'MEMORY' and power to 'PLAY'. Select file type and use SHUTTLE SEARCH ring.

Auto Playback

Follow Normal Playback steps, then press ►/II to start automatic playback.

Index Playback

Follow Normal Playback steps, press INDEX to view multiple files.

Viewing File Information

Press INFO button during playback to view file details.

Removing On-Screen Display

Access the menu, select 'DISPLAY', and set to 'OFF'.
