JVC warrants this product free from defective materials and workmanship for 1 year for parts and 90 days for labor.

Powering the Camcorder

1. Connect the battery pack or AC adapter.

2. For battery charging, ensure the camcorder is off and connect the AC adapter to an outlet and the battery pack to the adapter.

Inserting a Cassette

1. Open the LCD monitor (GR-SXM320 only).

2. Slide EJECT to open the cassette holder.

3. Insert the cassette with the label facing outward.

4. Press PUSH to close the holder.

Recording

1. Set the Power Switch to "CAMERA" or "PRO.".

2. Open the lens cover.

3. Press the Recording Start/Stop Button to begin recording.

4. Press again to stop.

Playback

1. Set the Power Switch to "PLAY".

2. Press the Rewind button if needed.

3. Press the Play/Pause button to start playback.

4. Press to stop.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Indications Function
Battery indicator blinking Remaining power level: exhausted. Power turns off automatically.
Cassette indicator blinking No cassette loaded or Erase Protection tab not in record position.
Blinks for approx. 10 seconds when power is turned on Clock (lithium) battery not installed or discharged. Install or replace.
TAPE END Tape reached its end during recording, playback or fast-forward.
LENS COVER blinks Camcorder turned on with lens cover closed.
CONDENSATION PLEASE WAIT Condensation detected. Functions disabled except tape eject and power on/off. Turn unit off, wait, then turn on again.
TAPE HEAD IS DIRTY USE CLEANING CASSETTE Dirt detected on heads during recording. Use cleaning cassette. If warning persists, consult dealer.
E01 – E06 SAFEGUARD FUNCTION HAS BEEN ACTIVATED REATTACH BATTERY Error indications showing malfunction type. Turn unit off, remove power supply, wait, then turn on. If indication remains, consult dealer.
