Getting Started

  • Power: Charge the battery pack using the AC adapter. Connect the adapter to the camcorder and an AC outlet. Charging starts when the CHARGE lamp blinks.
  • Battery Pack: Attach the battery pack by hooking its end and pushing until it locks. Use the Battery Release Switch to detach.
  • Grip Adjustment: Adjust the Velcro strap for a comfortable grip.
  • Viewfinder Adjustment: Set the power to 'A' or 'M', then adjust the viewfinder for clarity.
  • Shoulder Strap Attachment: Thread the strap through the eyelets and buckle.
  • Tripod Mounting: Align the tripod screw with the camera's mounting socket.
  • Date/Time Settings: Use the MENU Wheel to navigate and set the date and time.
  • Recording Format Setting: Select S-VHS or S-VHS ET based on the cassette used.
  • Recording Mode Setting: Choose between SP (Standard Play) and EP (Extended Play) for recording.
  • Tape Length Setting: Input the tape length for accurate remaining time indication.
  • Loading/Unloading A Cassette: Open the LCD monitor, slide EJECT, insert/remove cassette, then close the holder and monitor.
  • Recording: Ensure power is on, set to 'A' or 'M'. Press the Recording Start/Stop button to begin and end recording.

Basic Features

  • Zooming: Use the Power Zoom Lever (T for zoom in, W for zoom out). Digital Zoom extends magnification.
  • Picture Stabilizer: Press the P. STABILIZER button to reduce shake.
  • 5-Sec. Rec: Record 5-second clips for scene transitions.
  • Quick Review: Press the rewind button to check the end of the last recording.
  • Retake: Re-record segments by holding RETAKE to find the start point.
  • Video Light: Use the LIGHT switch (OFF/AUTO/ON) to illuminate the scene.

  • Snapshot: Take still images like a regular camera.
  • Night-Alive: Brightens dark scenes.
  • Fade/Wipe Effects: Create professional scene transitions.
  • Program AE With Special Effects: Select modes like SPORTS, TWILIGHT, or High Speed Shutter.
  • Digital Effects: Apply SEPIA, B/W MONOTONE, NEGA POSI, MOSAIC, STRETCH, CLASSIC FILM, STROBE, or VIDEO ECHO effects.
  • Using Menus For Detailed Adjustment: Access detailed settings via the on-screen menu system.
