Getting Started
  • Charging the Battery Pack: Attach the battery pack, connect the DC connector to the unit, and plug the AC adapter into an outlet. The charging lamp indicates the charging status.
  • Inserting an SD Card: Close the LCD monitor, open the cover, and insert an SD card.
  • Using the Icon Buttons/Thumbnails: Tap icons or thumbnails on the touch screen to select items. Drag thumbnails to search for files.
  • Changing Menu Settings: Tap "MENU" to access the shortcut menu, then tap the desired item. Navigate and adjust settings using the on-screen options.
  • Clock Setting: Open the LCD monitor, confirm "SET DATE/TIME!", set the date and time using the arrow buttons, select the region, and save.
  • Video Recording: Open the lens cover, check if the recording mode is video and in Intelligent Auto. Start recording by pressing the START/STOP button.
  • Still Image Recording: Check if the recording mode is still image. Press the SNAPSHOT button halfway to focus, then fully to take a picture.
  • Playback/Deleting Files: Select video or still image mode, tap PLAY to enter playback mode, then tap the file to play. To delete, select files and tap "SET", then "EXECUTE".
  • Playing Back on TV: Connect the camera to the TV using an HDMI or AV cable. Turn on the camera and TV, select the TV input, and start playback.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Troubleshooting Description
General Check "Troubleshooting" in the "Detailed User Guide" for operating difficulties. Reset the unit by turning it off, removing and reattaching the AC adapter and battery, then turning it back on. Consult a JVC dealer if problems persist.
Battery Pack
  • Do not burn, short-circuit terminals, modify, or disassemble.
  • Avoid temperatures above 60°C (140°F). Use only specified chargers.
  • Do not expose to unnecessary shock. Charge between 10°C to 35°C (50°F to 95°F). Store in a cool, dry place. Maintain a 30% charge for long-term storage.
  • Do not leave the battery in the unit when not in use.
Recording Medium
  • Do not bend, drop, or apply strong pressure/vibrations. Keep away from water.
  • Avoid static electricity or electrical noise.
  • Do not turn off the camcorder or remove power/adapter while accessing the medium.
  • Keep away from strong magnetic fields or electromagnetic waves.
  • Do not store in high temperature/humidity. Do not touch metal parts.
  • Formatting or erasing only changes file administration; data is not completely erased. Use commercial software or physical destruction for complete erasure.
LCD Monitor
  • Do not push strongly or apply shocks to the LCD monitor.
  • Do not place the camcorder with the LCD monitor on the bottom.
  • Avoid rubbing with coarse cloth. Pixel variations are not malfunctions.
