Troubleshooting and error codes

When the unit is not working properly Troubleshooting Steps
Resetting this Unit 1. Open the terminal cover.
• Remove the power cord and all connecting cables.
2. Close the LCD monitor to turn off this unit.
3. Press the Reset button gently using an object with pointed tip.
Unable to charge the battery. • Ensure charging with the supplied AC adapter.
• Check connections.
• Charge within the room temperature range of 10°C to 35°C.
• Use an original AC adapter.
• Charging is not possible in progressive (50p) recording or Wi-Fi mode.
The remaining battery display is not correct. If the unit is used in extreme temperatures or the battery is repeatedly charged, the display may not be accurate.
The battery runs out quickly even after charging. • Ensure charging with the supplied AC adapter.
• Battery performance may drop in temperatures between -10°C to 0°C.
• If recording time is very short even after full charge, the battery may need replacement.
Unable to turn on the power. Charge the battery for more than 40 minutes before turning on the power.
Recording cannot be performed. Check the button. Set to recording mode by tapping the REC button.
Recording stops automatically. Recording stops automatically after 12 consecutive hours. Turn off the unit, wait, then turn it on again.
The continuous shooting speed of still images is slow. This may happen if used repeatedly or under certain recording conditions.
The focus is not adjusted automatically. Adjust focus manually. Wipe the lens with a cleaning cloth.
Zoom does not work. Digital zoom is not available in still image mode or time-lapse recording. Set ZOOM in the menu.
Mosaic-type noise occurs when recording scenes with fast movements or extreme changes in brightness. Set "VIDEO QUALITY" to "UXP" or "XP".
The inside of the lens is foggy. Open the terminal cover, close the LCD monitor, and leave it to reduce temperature. Condensation can occur inside the lens due to internal humidity when temperature rises.
Preventing fogging inside the lens (During recording) 1. Avoid direct sunlight; record in shade.
2. Use a tripod.
3. Leave the terminal cover open while recording (waterproof/dust-proof features will not function).
4. Turn off power when not recording.
Preventing fogging inside the lens (During charging) Charge in a low humidity environment.
Cannot insert the SD card. Ensure correct direction. Do not use miniSD or microSD cards.
Unable to copy to SD card. Set "REC MEDIA FOR VIDEO/IMAGE" to SD card. Format the SD card if necessary. Check the write protection switch.
Sound or video is interrupted. Interruption at connecting sections between scenes is normal.
There is no sound. Turn off "Silent Mode". Set "OPERATION SOUND" to "ON". Audio not recorded for TIME-LAPSE RECORDING.
The same image is displayed for a long time. Use a high speed SD card. Clean terminals. Format SD card. Verify PC system requirements.
The motion is choppy. Use a high speed SD card. Clean terminals. Format SD card. Verify PC system requirements.
Cannot find a recorded file. Change playback media. Select "PLAYBACK OTHER FILE".
Images do not appear on the TV properly. Disconnect and reconnect cable. Reset the unit.
Images are projected vertically on the TV. Set "VIDEO OUTPUT" to "4:3". Adjust TV screen.
The image displayed on TV is too small. Set "VIDEO OUTPUT" to "16:9".
When connected to the TV via the HDMI mini cable, proper images and sounds are not output. Disconnect and reconnect HDMI cable. Turn the unit off and on again.
HDMI-CEC functions do not work properly Set "HDMI CONTROL" to "OFF".
The unit operates slowly Copy all files to a computer and erase them from the unit.
This unit does not function properly and error messages appear. Turn off the unit, remove AC adapter, and press Reset button.
CHARGE lamp and POWER/ACCESS lamp are blinking Turn off the unit, remove AC adapter, and press Reset button. If problem persists, contact JVC dealer.
