Turn on the unit, then select the display language and the time zone. Read the caution, study operations by watching the Guided Tour. Initial setting is finished.
Tap Menu on the map screen to switch between INFO, NAVI, and SETUP tabs. Each tab has two pages of menus. Use these to access system functions.

| The built-in battery is used up faster than expected. | Consult your dealer or JVC Service Center to replace the battery. |
| The power does not come on. | Turn on the battery switch and supply power through the car cigarette lighter or AC outlet. |
| The standby/on lamp flashes red or lights blue and purple alternately. | Turn on the battery switch. |
| "The battery ran out" appears on the display and the unit turns off automatically. | Charge the battery using the car cigarette lighter or the AC outlet. The unit turns on automatically after connecting the adapter. |
| The unit does not work correctly. | Plug in the cigarette lighter adapter or AC adapter and press the reset switch. Settings and data are stored. |
| You cannot set the destination on the Map screen. | Set the map scale to "15 mi/25 km" or less. |
| "POI not found" appears on the display. | No POIs in the vicinity. Find the location using another method. |
| (appears on the display) | Wait until the unit reaches the operating temperature (32°F-104°F/0°C-40°C) and turn it on. |
| Navigation information is not precise. | Move to a location with good GPS signal reception. Install the external GPS antenna (sold separately). |
| It is hard to listen to the navigation guidance. | Activate the Voice Cruise function. |
| The clock indication is not correctly. | Check time zone and Daylight Saving time settings. Clock is adjusted by GPS signals; check GPS reception. |
| About AV player | |
| The unit does not work correctly when the battery switch is turned on. | Plug in the cigarette lighter adapter or AC adapter and press the reset switch. |
| Folder is not deleted from the memory area even after it is moved to the AV player area. | Other files (e.g., Excel) that the unit cannot detect may be included. |
| About HDD | |
| "The HDD error occurred.(fall)" appears on the display. | The unit fell down. Turn it on again. Anti-shock circuitry may not protect it depending on how it falls. If it cannot be turned on, consult a dealer. Guidance is canceled; tap Menu → NAVI → Restart to recalculate. |
| "The HDD error occurred.(R/W)" appears on the display. | Consult your dealer or JVC service Center if the message persists after retrying. |
