Basic Operations

  • Turning on the power: Turn on the ignition switch. The unit powers on and displays an opening screen before showing the language selection screen.
  • Language Selection: Choose your preferred language for display and voice guidance.
  • Installation Settings: Adjust country, time zone, summer time, reverse signal polarity, and camera input settings. These can also be changed later via the menu.
  • Displaying monitor setting bars: Press DISP to show or hide setting bars. Hold DISP to access brightness and screen off options.
  • Switching screens: Use the AV MAP/AV OFF button to switch between map and AV screens.
  • Map Navigation: Change map scale, scroll the map, display current position, and change map view (2D Heading Up, 3D Map, 2D North Up).
  • Registering Points: Save your home and favourite points by touching their location on the map.
  • Searching for a place: Search by address, telephone number, coordinates, POI, or quick search.
  • AV Operations: Select playback source, listen to the radio, operate discs, and use SD/USB devices.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Remedies/Causes
General
No sound from speakers. Adjust volume to optimum level. Check cords and connections.
Screen is not clear and legible. Direct sunlight on the windshield may cause this. Adjust monitor brightness. Detach and reattach the monitor panel.
Radio does not operate at all. Detach and reattach the monitor panel. Keep hands and the touch panel clean and dry. Eliminate static electricity and keep magnetic objects away. Let the unit stabilize to room temperature. A rubber mat on the floor may cause this symptom.
Touch panel does not respond correctly. Keep hands and touch panel clean and dry. Eliminate static electricity and keep magnetic objects away. Let the unit stabilize to room temperature.
Guidance or AV source sound is difficult to hear. Interfering ambient noise. Increase <Adaptive Volume>. Reset calibration data.
<Adaptive Volume> setting has no effect. Reset calibration data.
"System start error." Detach and reattach the monitor panel.
"No Signal" Change the source. Play back from an external device connected to AV-IN or VIDEO/LINE IN. Check cords and connections. Input signals are too weak.
Navigation
Guidance does not start. System is calibrating. Wait for calibration to finish. Guidance will start upon completion.
Cannot use some AV source functions on the map screen. On the map screen, only limited functions of the current source are available. Press AV MAP to control the source on the AV screen.
Route calculation seems to have stopped. Route calculation may take time depending on the route. Wait a moment.
Navigation voice is not heard from the speakers. Adjust guidance volume to the minimum level. Adjust to the correct level.
Voice guidance does not come from the driver's side speaker. Change the <Output> setting.
Guidance is sometimes incorrect. Reverse/speed signal wires are not connected. Connect them correctly.
POI found using <Poi Name> in <Destination Menu> is not in the chosen city. This is not a malfunction. The system may search for locations around the chosen city.
Current position on the map remains incorrect for over 30 minutes. Check the following wire connections: GPS antenna, Speed signal wire. If a disconnected wire is found, reconnect it. If no connection problems are found, reset calibration data.
Distance and estimated guidance time are not accurate after tire replacement/rotation. Perform <Reset Calibration Data> to clear accumulated calibration data.
"Check GPS Antenna" Check GPS antenna connection.
“Acquiring GPS Signal” Acquiring GPS signals. Wait until signal reception is completed. GPS signals cannot be received. Move to a location where the system can receive GPS signals.
"Route calculation failed." The destination/waypoint is too far from existing routes. Choose another destination/waypoint near a road.
"Route calculation interrupted: the destination is too far." The destination/waypoint is too far from the current position. Choose another destination/waypoint closer to the current position.
“Specified destination not found.” No valid information found in the database. Search for another location. Press [ ] and search again with different conditions.
FM/AM
"No traffic information available." No TMC information is currently available. Try one of the following: Move to an area where you can receive TMC service. There is no TMC information on your route. Display a list of all TMC information.
"Selected coordinates out of zone. Re-enter input." Entered coordinates are not available. Press [OK] and re-enter the coordinates.
Automatic preset SSM does not work. Manually memorize stations.
Static noise when listening to the radio. Connect the antenna securely.
Discs in general
Disc cannot be recognized or played. Force eject the disc. Unlock the disc. Insert a finalized disc. Finalize discs with the recording device.
Recordable/re-writable discs cannot be played. Insert the disc correctly. The file format is not supported by the device.
Tracks on recordable/re-writable discs cannot be skipped. Stop playback when driving on bumpy roads. Change the disc.
Playback does not start. The parking brake wire is not connected correctly. Connect it correctly.
Sound and images are sometimes interrupted or distorted. Stop playback when driving on bumpy roads. Change the disc.
No playback image appears and a parking brake warning message appears even when the parking brake is engaged. The parking brake wire is not connected correctly. Connect the video cord correctly. Select the correct input on the external monitor.
No image appears on the external monitor. Insert the disc upside down. Change the disc. The disc has no playable files.
"Read Error" No disc inserted. Insert a disc or select another playback source.
"No Disc" Force eject the disc. Check the disc.
“Ejection Problem” Force eject the disc.
“Loading Problem” Verify the disc.
“Region code error” Region code is incorrect.
DVD/CD, DivX/MPEG1/MPEG2/MP3/WMA/WAV
Disc cannot be played. Change the disc. Register tracks using a compatible application. Add the appropriate extension code for file names.
Noise is produced. The track played is not in a playable file format. Switch to another track.
Tracks are not played as desired. Playback order may differ from other players. This sometimes occurs during playback and is caused by how tracks were recorded. The track cannot be played.
Playback time elapsed is incorrect. The track played is not in a playable file format. Switch to another track. Playback order may differ from other players.
"Error" The track cannot be played.
Noise is produced. The track played is not in a playable file format. Switch to another track.
Tracks are not played as desired. Playback order may differ from other players.
Correct characters are not displayed (e.g., album name). For available characters, see page 12.
During track playback, sound is sometimes interrupted. Tracks are not copied correctly to the SD card/USB device. Recopy tracks and try again.
"No File” SD card/USB device has no playable files. Change SD card/USB device.
"No SD Card" No SD card inserted. Insert an SD card or select another source.
"No USB Device" No USB device connected. Connect a device or select another source.
"Read Error" File was not formatted correctly.
“Error” Track cannot be played.
USB
DivX/MPEG1/MPEG2/MP3/WMA/WAV playback issues Please refer to the specific sections for DVD/CD, DivX, MPEG, MP3, WMA, WAV for detailed troubleshooting.
iPod/iPhone
iPod/iPhone cannot be powered on or does not operate. Check connection. Charge battery. Verify if <Ensemble Tête> or <iPod> is correctly selected. Reset iPod/iPhone.
Sound is distorted. Turn off the equalizer on this unit or iPod/iPhone.
Playback pauses. The headphone was disconnected during playback with <iPod Control Mode> set to <iPod>. Restart playback.
No operation is available during playback of a track with an illustration. It takes some time to load an animation. Perform the operation once the illustration is loaded.
Video image is not reproduced. Check the connection of the USB audio and video cable.
"Disconnected" Check the connection.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth portable phone does not detect the device. This car radio can connect to a portable Bluetooth phone simultaneously. While connected to one device, this unit cannot be detected by another peripheral. Disconnect the currently connected device and search again.
Device does not detect Bluetooth device. Check the Bluetooth setting of the device.
There is an echo or noise. Adjust microphone position.
Phone sound quality is poor. Reduce the distance between this unit and the portable Bluetooth phone. Move the car to a location where you can get a better reception signal.
Rear View Camera
Rear view screen does not appear when the shift lever is in reverse (R). Check the <Camera Input> setting. Check the connection.
"No Signal" Check the connection.
AV-IN/Front AV-IN
"No Signal" Turn on the video device if it is not already on. Connect the video peripheral correctly. Check if <Front AV Input> or <AV Input> settings are correct.
