Quick Setup: Getting Started

Follow these three easy steps to begin using your new television:

  1. The Remote Control: Insert batteries into the remote. Push the latch on the back inward, pull the cover out, insert batteries noting '+' and '-', and replace the cover.
  2. Key Feature Buttons: Use the center buttons for basic operation: CH+/- to scan channels, VOLUME+/- for volume, MUTING to mute, MENU to access onscreen menus, and EXIT to leave menus.
  3. Basic Operation: Turn the TV on and off using the POWER button on the remote.

Connecting Your Devices

Follow the flowchart to determine the correct connection setup. Refer to the diagrams for specific connection instructions. Plug in the power cord and turn on the TV.

Interactive Plug In Menu (for select models)

The interactive plug-in menu appears on first use for specific models. It guides you through setting preferences for Language, Clock (AUTO or MANUAL), and Auto Tuner Setup.

Troubleshooting and error codes

PROBLEMS VERIFICATION
No power Check if the power cord is disconnected. Circuit breaker or fuse blown, or power outage.
No image, no sound Antenna is disconnected. Input mode not selected correctly. Selectors configuration is incorrect. Station is down, check other channels.
Remote control does not function Check batteries (installation and charge). Ensure no objects are between the TV and remote. You are too far away (maximum 7 meters or 23 feet).
Unable to select certain channels Ensure channels are programmed. Channel is locked.
TV turns off automatically Ensure the TV is not unplugged. On/Off timer may be activated. Sleep timer may be activated.
Incorrect time display Power outage and clock not set. Refer to page 34.
On Timer blinking Problem with the TV. Unplug the unit and call a technician.
Poor color quality Tint and color are misadjusted. Video status mode is misadjusted.
Lines/streaks on image Interference from other electrical devices (computer, VCR). Move devices away from TV.
Image with spots Interference from high-amperage devices (hair dryer, vacuum). Move antenna away or use a less sensitive coaxial cable.
Ghosting (double image) Building or airplane reflection. Adjust antenna position.
Snowy image Antenna may be damaged, disconnected, or rotated. Check connections. Replace if damaged.
Black screen Subtitle mode is activated. Deactivate in Subtitle menu, page 28.
Bilingual or stereo broadcasts not heard Ensure MTS mode is set correctly. Refer to page 33 for details on MTS mode settings.
No image for INPUT-2 Check AV cables for secure connections. For component connection to V2, select 'V2-COMPONENT'. For composite to V2, select 'VIDEO-2'. Refer to pages 13 and 38.
Static electricity Normal to feel static discharge when touching the screen.
Occasional crackling sounds Normal during power on/off unless image and sound degrade.
Privacy Policy
