Basic Operations

  • Connecting the player to a TV or amplifier/receiver using the Audio Video cable.
  • Connecting the player to an amplifier/receiver equipped with the analog discrete inputs.
  • Setting the Video out select to NTSC, PAL, or MULTI mode.
  • Installing batteries in the remote control.
  • Connecting the AV COMPU LINK cable.
  • Connecting the power cord.

Inserting/removing disc(s)

  • Press the (OPEN/CLOSE) button to open the disc tray.
  • Place the disc in the round recess of the tray with label side up.
  • Press the (OPEN/CLOSE) button again to close the tray.

Starting to play disc(s)

  • Press the (PLAY)/SELECT button or a CD button to start playing.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Possible cause Remedy
Power does not come on. Power plug is disconnected from AC outlet.
The POWER button is in the OFF position.
Firmly connect the plug to AC outlet.
Depress the POWER button.
Remote control does not work. Batteries are exhausted.
The tip of the remote control unit is not pointed at the receiving part of the player.
Replace the batteries with new ones.
Use the remote control correctly.
No image is displayed on the monitor. The video cable is not connected.
The TV is not set in video mode.
Firmly connect the cable.
Set the TV in video mode.
Playback does not start. An incompatible disc is loaded.
No disc is loaded.
Disc is loaded upside down.

Firmly connect the cable.

Wipe the disc surface with a soft cloth.

Disc tray does not come out when (OPEN/CLOSE) button is pressed. Power plug is disconnected from the power outlet. Firmly insert the plug into the outlet.
Operation is not possible. Microcomputer malfunctions due to lightning or static electricity. Turn the power off, then on again.
The AV COMPU LINK system does not work correctly. The player's AV COMPU LINK setting is not correct. Make the setting correctly.
