Basic Operations

Functions of the Buttons on the Front Panel

The front panel has various buttons for controlling the unit. Key functions include:

  • Reset: Returns the unit to factory settings.
  • ATT: Switches volume attenuation on/off.
  • Volume Control: Adjusts the volume.
  • AUD: Displays the Graphic Equalizer screen.
  • NAV: Displays the navigation screen.
  • MENU: Displays the Top Menu screen or turns the power on/off.
  • TEL: Displays the Hands Free screen or Voice Recognition screen.
  • Eject: Ejects the disc.
  • Remote Sensor: Receives the remote control signal.
  • Disc insert slot: For inserting disc media.
  • SD card slot: For upgrading the map.

Common Operations

General: Functions like Menu (returns to Top Menu screen or displays Screen Control screen), Return (goes to the previous screen), and Common Menu key (accesses various control screens like SETUP, Audio, EXT SW, or current source control) are available from most screens.

List Screen: Features include scrolling of displayed text and touch keys with various functions depending on the source.

Flick Scrolling: Allows scrolling through lists by flicking the screen up/down or right/left.

How to Use the Navigation System

  1. Press the <NAV> button to display the navigation screen.
  2. Operate desired functions from the Main Menu (GPS satellite strength, Find Destination, View Map, Apps, Settings).
  3. Enter destination and start guidance by touching [Where To?], selecting category/subcategory, destination, and then [Go!].
  4. Follow the route displayed with voice prompts and arrows. The system recalculates the route if you depart.

How to Play Music

  1. Connect media (Disc, iPod, USB device).
  2. Control music playback using on-screen controls (Play/Pause, Stop, Search, etc.).
  3. Search for tracks using List search or Refined search.

How to Listen to the Radio/ HD Radio™ Tuner/ SiriusXM

  1. Touch [Menu] and then [TUNER], [HD Radio], or [SIRIUS XM].
  2. Operate on the source control screen (Station search, Auto memory, Recalling preset station).

How to Make a Phone Call

  1. Register your cell-phone to the unit via Bluetooth SETUP.
  2. Connect your cell-phone in the BT Connection Settings.
  3. Make or receive calls by entering a number, using call records, the phonebook, preset numbers, or voice commands.

5 NAV • Displays the navigation screen.
• Pressing for 1 second switches AV out sources.

• Pressing for 1 second turns the power off.
• When the power off, turns the power on.
7 TEL • Displays the Hands Free screen (Instruction Manual P.74).
• Pressing for 1 second displays the Voice Recognition screen. (Instruction Manual P.82)
8 ▲ (Eject) • Ejects the disc.
• When the panel is opened, pressing closes the panel and pressing for 1 second ejects the disc forcibly.
• When the panel is closed, pressing for 1 second fully opens the panel to the location of the SD card slot.
9 Remote Sensor Receives the remote control signal.
10 Disc insert slot A slot to insert a disc media.
