Basic Operations

Quick Start Guide: This guide covers basic functions. For detailed information, refer to the full Instruction Manual online.

Initial Setup: Upon first power-up, follow on-screen prompts for Locale, Language, Color, EXT SW, Camera, and OEM SETUP.

Connecting Devices: Setup screens for iPod/iPhone and Apps are presented upon first selection. Follow on-screen instructions for connection types (Bluetooth, USB, etc.).

Front Panel Buttons: Familiarize yourself with the buttons for Reset, Volume, NAV, AUD, MENU, and TEL functions.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Unit fails to operate properly Press the Reset button. The unit returns to factory settings. Disconnect USB device before resetting.
Lens fogging Remove the disc and wait for condensation to evaporate. If the unit still does not operate normally, consult your Kenwood dealer.
Disc playback issues Ensure the disc is not dirty or damaged. Clean from the center outward. Use only round discs. 8-cm discs cannot be used.
GPS signal not acquired Ensure the vehicle is outdoors in an open area away from tall buildings and trees.
