Basic Operations

  • Turning on the Unit: Press the HOME button.
  • Adjusting Volume: Press + to increase, - to decrease. Holding + increases volume continuously to level 15.
  • Touch Screen Operations: Use Touch to select items, Touch and hold to perform actions until display changes, Flick to change pages or scroll lists, and Swipe to scroll screens.
  • HOME Screen: Access most functions from here. Displays current source, information, and shortcut icons.
  • Source Selection: Touch the source selection icon to display all playback sources and options.
  • MENU Screen: Access various settings and functions like SETUP, APP, View Camera, etc.
  • List Screen: Common function keys for navigating lists, playing files, and returning to previous screens.

APPS

  • Apple CarPlay: Use iPhone apps in the car for navigation, calls, messages, and music. Connect iPhone via USB and unlock it. Access Siri using the VOICE button.
  • Android Auto: Use Android smartphone functions for navigation, calls, music, etc. Connect smartphone via USB and set Mode to Android Auto. Use VOICE button for voice control.
  • USB Mirroring (Android only): Display and control Android smartphone apps on the unit. Download "Mirroring OA for KENWOOD" app, pair via Bluetooth, and set Mode to Mirroring for Android™.

USB

  • Connect USB device via cable. Press HOME, then touch USB icon.
  • Basic Operation: Control playback, access content lists, and search files.
  • Disconnect: Press HOME, then touch a source other than USB, then detach the USB device.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
Unit or connected unit fails to operate properly. Reset the unit by pressing the <Reset> button. (See page 4)
Data in USB device may be damaged. Disconnect the USB device before pressing the <Reset> button.
