Setting up and Basic Operation:
  1. Power On: Press the POWER (1/6) key. The unit turns on, and the standby/timer indicator lights red or amber.
  2. Selecting Input: Press the CD/II, AUX, TAPE, or TUNER/band key to select the desired input source and start playback or reception. For CD or TAPE, playback begins immediately if a disc or tape is loaded.
  3. Volume Adjustment: Use the volume/multi control knob to adjust the volume. The display shows a reference value.
  4. Listening Through Headphones: Insert headphones into the "phones" jack. All speaker sound will be cut off.
  5. Muting Sound: Press the MUTE key on the remote control unit to temporarily mute the sound. Press again to resume original volume.
CD Playback:
  1. Load a disc by pressing the CD key, placing the disc, and pressing the CD key again.
  2. Start playback by pressing the CD/II key.
  3. Use the remote control to skip tracks, fast forward/backward, pause, stop, or eject the CD.
Tape Playback:
  1. Load a cassette tape by pressing the TAPE key, inserting the tape, and pressing the TAPE key again.
  2. Start playback by pressing the TAPE key in the desired direction.
  3. Use the remote control for high-speed winding, selecting TAPE EQ., and choosing the reverse mode.
Tuner Operation:
  1. Press the TUNER/band key to select FM or AM.
  2. Preset stations for auto or manual tuning.
  3. Use the preset call keys or numeric keys to select preset stations.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Remedy
Sound is not produced. Connect properly referring to "System connections".
Adjust to an required volume.
Switch MUTE OFF.
Unplug the headphone plug.
The standby/timer indicator blinks in red and no sound is put out. A speaker cord is short-circuited. Turn power off and reconnect the speaker cord.
The standby/timer indicator lights in amber. Adjust the present time again.
No sound from the headphones. Insert correctly.
Adjust to an required volume.
Sound is not produced from the left or right speakers. Connect properly referring to "System connection".
Adjust the optimum left and right balance.
The clock display blinks without changing the figures. Adjust the present time again.
Timer operation is not possible. Adjust the present time referring to "Clock adjust- ment".
Set the timer ON time and OFF time.
Press the TIMER key to set up the execution.
Tuner section
Symptom Remedy
Radio stations cannot be received. Connect antennas.
Select a band.
Tune to the frequency of the desired station.
Noise interferes. Install the outdoor antenna in an apart position from the road.
Switch the suspected electric appliance OFF.
Install the TV or the system at an increased distance between them.
A station has been preset but it cannot be received by pressing the P.CALL key. Preset stations with tunable frequencies.
Preset stations again.
