Caution

Volume setting:

  • Adjust the volume so that you can hear sounds outside the car to prevent accidents.
  • Lower the volume before playing digital sources to avoid damaging the speakers by the sudden increase of the output level.

General:

  • Avoid using the external device if it might hinder safe driving.
  • Make sure all important data has been backed up. We shall bear no responsibility for any loss of recorded data.
  • Never put or leave any metallic objects (such as coins or metal tools) inside the unit to prevent a short circuit.
  • If a disc error occurs due to condensation on the laser lens, eject the disc and wait for the moisture to evaporate.
  • USB rating is indicated on the main unit. To view, detach the faceplate. (→ 3)
  • Depending on the types of cars, the antenna will automatically extend when you turn on the unit with the antenna control wire connected (→ 30). Turn off the unit or change the source to STANDBY when parking at a low ceiling area.

Troubleshooting and error codes

No sound is heard.
  • Set the volume to an optimal level.
  • Check cables and connections.
The display shows "MISWIRING CHECK WIRING THEN PWR ON".Turn off the power, then check to ensure that the speaker wire connections are properly insulated. Turn the power on again.
The display shows "PROTECTING SEND SERVICE".Refer to the nearest service center.
• Sound is not heard. • Unit does not turn on. • Display shows incorrect information.
  • Clean the connectors. (→ 24)
  • Reset the unit. (→ 3)
The receiver does not work.Insert the antenna firmly.
• Poor radio reception. • Static noise when listening to the radio.
The disc cannot be ejected.Press and hold the ⏏ button to forcibly eject the disc. Be careful not to drop the disc during ejection. If the problem persists, restart the unit. (→ 3)
Noise is heard.Skip the track or change the disc.
Tracks do not play as intended.The playback order is determined when the files are recorded.
The text "READING" continues to flash.Do not use a multi-level hierarchical structure or multiple folders.
Playback time is incorrect.The track recording method is the cause.
"LOADING" is displayed when switching to search mode by pressing ⏏/⌂.This unit is preparing the iPod/iPhone music list. It may take some time to load, please try again later.
The display shows incorrect symbols (e.g., album title).
  • This unit can only display uppercase letters, numbers, and a limited number of symbols.
  • Depending on the selected language, some symbols may not be displayed correctly. (→ 5)
"NA FILE"Ensure the disc contains supported audio files. (→ 25)
"NO DISC"Insert a recordable disc into the disc loading slot.
"TOC ERROR"Ensure the disc is clean and inserted correctly.
"PLEASE EJECT"Reset the unit. If the problem persists, contact your nearest service center.
"NO DEVICE"Connect a USB device, then switch the source to USB again.
"COPY PRO"A copy-protected file is being played.
"UNSUPPORTED DEVICE"Ensure the connected device is compatible with this unit and that the file system format is supported. (→ 25)
"UNRESPONSIVE DEVICE"Reconnect the device.
"USB HUB IS NOT SUPPORTED"This unit does not support USB devices connected through a USB hub.
• The source does not switch to "USB" when a USB device is connected while listening to another source.The USB port draws more power than its rated capacity. Turn off the power and disconnect the USB device. Then turn the power on and reconnect the USB device. If this does not solve the problem, turn the power off and on again (or reset the unit) before replacing the USB device with another one.
• The display shows "USB ERROR".
"NO MUSIC"Connect a USB device containing playable audio files.
"iPod ERROR"
  • Reconnect the iPod.
  • Restart the iPod.
• Sound is only output from the Android device.
  • Reconnect the Android device.
  • If [HAND MODE] is operational, start any software media player on the Android device and begin playback.
  • If [HAND MODE] is operational, restart the current software media player or use another software media player.
  • Restart the Android device.
  • If this does not resolve the issue, the connected Android device cannot transmit audio signals to this unit.
Cannot play in [BROWSE MODE].
  • Ensure the KENWOOD MUSIC PLAY APP is installed on the Android device. (→ 8)
  • Reconnect the Android device and select the appropriate control mode.
  • If this does not resolve the issue, the connected Android device does not support [BROWSE MODE]. (→ 25)
The text "NO DEVICE" or "READING" continues to flash.Disable the developer options on the Android device.
Playback is intermittent or skipped.
  • Reconnect the Android device.
  • If this does not resolve the issue, the connected Android device does not support [BROWSE MODE]. (→ 25)
"ANDROID ERROR"/ "NA DEVICE"
  • Disconnect the power saving mode on the Android device.
  • Reconnect the Android device.
  • Restart the Android device.
"DISCONNECTED"The USB is disconnected from the main unit. Please ensure the device is properly connected via USB.
"CONNECTING"
  • USB input connection: The device is connecting to the main unit. Please wait.
  • Bluetooth connection: Bluetooth is disconnected. Please check the Bluetooth connection and ensure the device and this unit are paired and connected.
"CHECK APP"The Spotify application is not properly connected or the user has not logged in. Exit the Spotify application and restart it, then log in to your Spotify account.
Bluetooth devices not detected.
  • Search again from the Bluetooth device.
  • Reset the unit. (→ 3)
Cannot pair Bluetooth devices.
  • Ensure the same PIN code is entered on the device and the Bluetooth device.
  • Delete pairing information from the device and the Bluetooth device, then pair again. (→ 11)
Echo or noise is heard during phone calls.
  • Adjust the microphone position. (→ 11)
  • Check the [ECHO CANCEL] setting. (→ 13)
Poor quality phone audio.
  • Reduce the distance between the unit and the Bluetooth device.
  • Move the car to a location with a stronger cellular signal.
Voice command error.
  • Use the voice command method in quieter conditions.
  • Get closer to the microphone when pronouncing the name.
  • Pronounce commands with a registered voice.
