1. SEPARATE Input Terminals: Connect these six terminals to the three main amplifier outputs (Low, Mid, High) of each stereo side of a multi-channel amplifier. Ensure correct polarity, especially for 12dB/OCT crossover slopes, where reversing polarity for the mid-range amplifier might be necessary for optimal sound based on room acoustics.
2. SELECTOR Switch: This switch connects to either a multi-channel system (SEPARATE) or a conventional full-range amplifier/receiver (CLEAR, NORMAL, SOFT). In the latter modes, a built-in LC crossover network adjusts the sound: CLEAR (slight high emphasis), NORMAL (flat hi-fi response), SOFT (slight mid-range and high attenuation).
Connect these two terminals to a conventional stereo amplifier or receiver. Always observe polarity (plus to plus, minus to minus).
Verify all connections before operating to prevent damage. Misconnecting the Low-range amplifier output to HIGH or MID terminals can cause speaker damage.
Proper adjustment of crossover frequencies and amplifier levels is crucial for multi-channel operation. Recommended crossover frequencies are approximately 570-800Hz/12dB/OCT and 5,000Hz/12dB/OCT.
