Microwave Operation

  • To set the clock: Press clock/pre-set, enter hours and minutes using the timer/weight/auto. menu dial, then press clock/pre-set again.
  • Child lock: To activate, press and hold stop/clear for 3 seconds until a beep sounds and the child lock indicator appears. To deactivate, repeat the process.
  • Microwave cooking: Press microwave, select power level (P100-P10) by pressing the microwave button or rotating the timer/weight/auto. menu dial. Enter cooking time using the timer/weight/auto. menu dial. Press start/+30sec/confirm.
  • Two-stage cooking: Select the first cooking stage (e.g., defrost), then the second stage (e.g., microwave cooking). Press start/+30sec/confirm after setting each stage.
  • Delayed start: Set the cooking program first, then press clock/pre-set, set the desired start time, and press start/+30sec/confirm.
  • Auto menu: Select the desired auto menu program (A-1 to A-8) using the timer/weight/auto. menu dial, then press start/+30sec/confirm. If prompted, enter the weight using the timer/weight/auto. menu dial and press start/+30sec/confirm.
  • Defrost: Select defrost by weight/time. Choose weight or time defrost, enter the weight/time, and press start/+30sec/confirm.
  • Quick start: Press start/+30sec/confirm to start cooking at 100% power for 30 seconds. Press again to add 30-second intervals.

Why does the food not seem to be cooked? Check that:
  • the cooking time is set
  • the door is closed
  • the socket is not overloaded and no fuse has blown.
Why does the food seem to be under or overcooked? Check that:
  • the cooking time is set correctly
  • the correct power setting has been used.
How can I prevent eggs from splashing? When baking or poaching eggs in the microwave, the yolk can sometimes splash as steam builds up inside. You can prevent the egg from splashing by piercing the yolk with a toothpick before cooking. Never cook eggs that are still in their shells.
Why is it so important to let food rest after cooking? Many foods cooked in a microwave oven build up enough internal heat to continue cooking even after being removed from the oven. Microwave cooking works from the outside in. Resting time allows the food to cook thoroughly inside without overcooking the exterior.
Why does my oven sometimes take longer to cook food than stated in the recipe? First, check that the oven is set precisely as the recipe prescribed. Cooking times and power settings are suggestions to prevent overcooking, but variations in food weight, size, shape, and starting temperature will affect how long it takes to cook, similar to a conventional oven. Use your common sense and the recipe to check if the food is properly cooked.
Why does condensation form on the inside of the oven door? Condensation is completely normal, especially when cooking foods with high moisture content, such as potatoes.
Does microwave energy escape through the door window? No, the door has a special metal screen with holes that allow you to see into the oven but prevent microwave energy from escaping.
Steam escapes through the door edge and air vents. Can microwave energy also escape? No, the door and air vents are specifically designed to allow steam to escape during cooking while keeping microwave energy contained. The gaps are not large enough for microwave energy to escape.
What happens if the oven is turned on when it is empty? The microwave oven will be damaged. Do not turn on the microwave oven when it is empty. It is a good idea to place a cup of water in the oven in case someone accidentally turns it on.
Why does the oven light not turn on? Open the door. If the light does not turn on, the bulb is probably blown. Call a qualified repair person – do not attempt to replace the bulb yourself.
