INSTALLATION AND CONNECTIONS

  1. The transceiver may be placed either on top or beside the supply.
  2. Connect the KPS-12 to the transceiver with the DC power cable (Red +, Black -) supplied with the transceiver. When installing the cable, the POWER switch should be OFF.
  3. Adequate space should be provided between the KPS-12 heat sink and wall, curtain or any adjacent object for good ventilation.
  4. The connecting cable between the power supply and transceiver should be as short as possible to minimize voltage drop and prevent RF pick-up.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No output voltage Blown fuse Replace fuse with spare 3-A fuse. Determine cause of failure. Never use higher amperage fuse.
Output voltage varies greatly Needs adjustment Adjust potentiometer VR-1 on the printed-circuit board for 13.8 VDC output.
Output voltage decreases during use Short-circuit or excessive current draw Turn POWER switch OFF. Check for the problem and repair as necessary.
