System Set-Up:

1. Receive the merchandise and choose the type of transceiver (NX-5800 or NX-5800(B)).

2. Program the transceiver using a PC, programming interface (KPG-46U), and FPU software.

3. Connect necessary accessories like ignition sense cable (KCT-46), GPS active antenna (KRA-40), horn alert/P.A. relay unit (KAP-2), external speaker (KES-3 or KES-5), keypad microphone (KMC-36), or secure cryptographic module (KWD-AE30/KWD-AE31) as needed.

4. Proceed to Delivery.

Modes of Operation:

  • User mode: For normal use.
  • Panel test mode: For dealer to check fundamental characteristics.
  • Panel tuning mode: For dealer to tune the transceiver.
  • PC mode: For communication between transceiver and PC.
  • Data programming mode: To read/write frequency data and other features.
  • PC test mode: To test the transceiver using PC.
  • Firmware programming mode: For changing the main program of the flash memory.
  • Clone mode: To transfer programming data from one transceiver to another.
  • Front panel programming mode: For rewritable frequency or other data of conventional channels.
  • Transceiver information mode: To confirm firmware, SCM firmware, and SCM hardware versions.
