| How do I prevent eggs from exploding? | When preparing scrambled eggs, the yolk can sometimes explode due to steam formation. To prevent eggs from exploding, prick the yolk with a toothpick before cooking. Never cook eggs in their shells. |
| Why do I have to wait a while after cooking is finished? | Microwave cooking generates enough heat within many foods to continue cooking after removal from the microwave. Heated food will continue to cook after the cooking cycle has finished, so letting foods stand allows for even cooking and heat distribution. |
| Why does my cooking time sometimes take longer in the microwave than stated in the recipe? | First, check if the microwave is set as stated in the recipe. Settings for cooking times and heating are recommendations that help prevent overcooking, but differing weights, sizes, shapes, and initial temperatures of food will affect the cooking time, just as with a conventional oven. In addition to the recipe, use your own judgment to check if the food is cooked properly. |
| Why is there condensation on the inside of the door? | Condensation is normal, especially when cooking food with a high water content, such as potatoes. |
| Can microwave energy penetrate through the window in the door? | No. The transparent door panel is made of sheet metal with holes, which allow you to see inside but do not allow radiation to pass through. |
| Steam is escaping from the sides of the door and vents. Can microwave radiation also escape? | No. The door and vents are carefully designed to allow steam to escape during cooking, but to keep microwave radiation inside the cabinet. |
| What happens if I turn on the microwave when it is empty? | The microwave will be damaged. Do not switch on the microwave if there is nothing inside. It is advisable to leave a cup of water in the microwave in case someone accidentally switches on the microwave. |
| Why does the interior light not come on? | Open the door. If the light does not come on, the bulb is probably burnt out. Call a qualified technician – do not attempt to replace the bulb yourself. |
| When I use the microwave, I see sparks inside. Could this damage the microwave? | Yes. Make sure you do not use metal dishes or containers with metal decoration. You must not use metal objects (except aluminum foil) in the microwave during cooking. |
| Light is visible through the vents and the door. Does this mean microwave energy can also escape? | No. Light leakage is normal and not a cause for concern. |
| Why is my television and radio reception interfered with when I use the microwave? | Microwave ovens use radio waves similar to those received by TV and radio receivers. You can reduce this interference by moving the microwave oven further away from your television or radio. |
