Quick Steps

  1. Prepare and load dishwasher.
  2. Add detergent for cleaning and rinse aid for drying.
  3. Select a cycle and option.
  4. Start dishwasher.

Dishwasher Use

Prepare and Load the Dishwasher: Remove leftover food, bones, toothpicks, and other hard items. Ensure spray arms can spin freely and no items block the dispenser. Load items with soiled surfaces facing down and inward. Avoid overlapping items. Place plastics, small plates, and glasses in the upper rack. Load silverware with sharp items pointing down. Mix items in the basket.

Add Detergent: Use automatic dishwasher detergent. Add just before starting a cycle. Store detergent in a cool, dry place.

Add Rinse Aid: Essential for good drying performance. Rinse aid helps water drain off dishes, reducing spots and streaks. Check the rinse aid indicator and add when it shows "Add".

Select a Cycle and Option: Choose from various soil cycles (ProWash, Tough, Normal, Light) and speed cycles (Express Wash, Rinse Only). Customize with options like Heat Dry, Hi-Temp Wash, Sani Rinse, ProDry, ProScrub, and Delay Start.

Start or Resume a Cycle: Run hot water at the sink until hot. Press START/RESUME. If the door is opened, press START/RESUME again. For top-mounted buttons, close the door firmly within 3 seconds.

Troubleshooting and error codes

CONTROL PURPOSE COMMENTS
Start/RESUME To start or resume a wash cycle If the door is opened during a cycle or the power is interrupted, the Start/Resume indicator flashes. The cycle will not resume until the door is closed and START/RESUME is pressed.
Cancel/DRAIN To reset any cycle or options during selection. To cancel a wash cycle after it's started. Press and hold CANCEL/DRAIN to reset any control selections made. See 'Canceling A Cycle' and 'Changing A Cycle After Dishwasher Is Started' sections.
Hi-Temp Wash/Sound On/Off Hold 3 Sec To turn the audible tones on or off. Press and hold the Hi-Temp Scrub button for 3 seconds to turn the audible tones on or off. Only audible tones for confirming button presses can be turned on/off. Important audible tones, such as indicating a cycle has been interrupted, cannot be deactivated.
Dishwasher Feedback Section
Cycle Status Indicator Lights (Washing, Rinsing, Drying, Clean, Sanitized) The Cycle Status Indicator Lights are used to follow the progress of the dishwasher cycle. Located on the front of the dishwasher for front control models, and on the top of the door for hidden control models. The Front Indicator Light or Single Exterior Light shows progress by color (blue for washing/rinsing, red for drying, white for complete). Blinking light may indicate a troubleshooting issue.
Cycle Status Display Used to follow the progress of the dishwasher cycle and show other information. Indicates if a dish can be added, wash progress, drying status, completion, and sanitization. A series of bars indicates remaining cycle time or delay duration. Displays 'affresh' reminder every 30 cycles.
