Warranty Information

KitchenAid offers a one-year full warranty and a four-year limited warranty on ceramic cooktops.

Using the Surface Units:

  • Push in control knobs before turning to a setting, then set between HI and OFF.
  • Touch ON/OFF to turn heating elements on. LO and HI lights will blink. Touch arrow to HI for high power or LO for low power.
  • To choose intermediate power levels, touch and hold the arrow pointing to HI, or tap it, to decrease power. Follow the same procedure from LO to increase power.
  • Touch ON/OFF to turn elements off individually, or ALL OFF to turn all off at once.
  • Electronic touch models have a cooling fan that may run after the cooktop is turned off.

Hot Surface Indicator Lights:

  • Lights glow when surface units are hot and remain on until they are cool enough to touch.

Dual-Size Surface Unit:

  • Use right rear and left front units as small or large elements.
  • Push in knob and turn to "SINGLE" for small element, or "DUAL" for large element.

Ceramic Glass Cooktop:

  • Surface cooking area will glow red when element is on.
  • Do not cook directly on the cooktop.
  • Lift pots and pans onto and off the cooktop.
  • Do not use as a cutting board.

Troubleshooting and error codes

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION
Nothing will operate The unit is not wired into a live circuit with proper voltage. Wire the unit into a live circuit with proper voltage. (See Installation Instructions.)
A household fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped. Replace household fuse or reset circuit breaker.
The surface cooking areas will not operate A household fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped. Replace household fuse or reset circuit breaker.
Control knob(s) will not turn You are not pushing in before turning. Push control knobs in before turning to a setting.
Touch controls will not respond You are not following the correct sequence to operate the electronic touch control. See Electronic touch controls in the "Using Your Cooktop" section.
You are not touching the electronic control in the correct location.
Cooking results are not what you expected The cooktop is not level. Level cooktop. (See Installation Instructions.)
The pan used is not the correct type or size. Refer to a reliable cookbook for recommended pan type and size.
Cookware does not fit the surface cooking area being used. Pan should be the same size or slightly larger than surface cooking area being used.
