Operating Your Microwave Oven

Clock: Set a 12-hour or 24-hour clock. Use SETUP/CLOCK to access the Clock submenu.

Timer: Use the Timer keypad to set cooking duration. Cook functions can be entered while the timer counts down.

Control Lock: Press and hold CANCEL for 3 seconds to prevent unintended starts. A padlock icon will appear.

Setup/Clock: Adjust settings like scrolling speed, sound, filter reset, fan timer, light timer, language, calibration, demo mode, and factory reset.

Sensor Cooking: The oven detects moisture and adjusts cooking time. Ensure the oven is plugged in and use a vented lid or plastic wrap with a vent.

Cooking Rack: Use for 2-level cooking. Remove after use to prevent damage.

Convection Element and Fan: Embedded in the cavity walls for convection cooking.

Troubleshooting and error codes

If you experience Recommended Solutions
Microwave oven will not operate Check household fuse or circuit breaker. Test magnetron by heating water. Check door closure. Ensure control is set properly and Control Lock is off.
Arcing in the microwave oven Check for soil buildup on cavity walls, inlet cover, rack supports, and door frame area.
Turntable alternates rotation directions This is normal and depends on motor rotation at the beginning of the cycle.
Display shows messages "Enter clock" with flashing digits indicates a power failure; reset the clock. A letter followed by a number is an error code; call for assistance.
Odor and smoke coming from microwave oven during convection cooking This is normal for the first few convection cycles. The odor will dissipate.
Fan running during cooktop usage The cooling fan runs automatically to cool the oven. It may also cycle on/off to cool controls while the cooktop is in use.
Radio, TV, or cordless phone interference Move receiver away, adjust antenna, clean door/sealing surfaces, or consider phone frequency.
