Understanding Washer Cycles

When the Cycle Control knob is set and pulled out, the washer fills before agitation and timing start. It begins agitating immediately, with the lid up or down. The agitator creates a continuous rollover action for thorough cleaning. After agitation begins, the knob turns clockwise until the cycle ends. The washer pauses briefly throughout each cycle.

Loading Suggestions

For full-sized loads, use the highest LOAD SIZE setting. Mix large and small items to ensure items move easily. Overloading can cause poor cleaning. Use a large load size for permanent press clothes and synthetic knits to reduce wrinkling.

Starting Your Washer

1. Measure and pour detergent. 2. Optionally add liquid chlorine bleach to dispenser (max 1 cup). 3. Optionally add diluted liquid fabric softener to dispenser. 4. Close the lid. 5. Set LOAD SIZE and TEMPERATURE selectors. 6. Push in and turn the Cycle Control knob to select the desired cycle. Pull out to start.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Possible Cause Solution
Washer won't fill, rinse or agitate Power cord not plugged in; Cycle Control knob not aligned; Water inlet screens clogged; Faucets not on; Hose kinked; Water level perception Check plug; Align knob; Clean screens; Turn on faucets; Check hose; Normal for level to appear low
Washer stops Power cord not plugged in; Cycle Control knob not aligned; Water inlet screens clogged; Faucets not on; Hose kinked; No power at plug; Blown fuse/tripped breaker; Using extension cord; Washer in normal pause; Overloaded Check plug; Align knob; Clean screens; Turn on faucets; Check hose; Check electrical; Check fuse/breaker; Do not use extension cord; Allow cycle to continue; Wash smaller loads
Washer won't drain or spin Drain hose clogged or too high; Lid open; Excessive sudsing; Low voltage Check drain hose; Close lid; Measure detergent; Check voltage
Washer continues to fill or drain, or cycle seems stuck Drain hose too low or taped tightly; Air gap missing Ensure drain hose is higher than water level; Ensure loose fit with air gap
Washer makes noise Load unbalanced; Washer not level; Shipping strap not removed; Gears engaging/agitator clicking Balance load, level washer; Remove shipping strap; Normal noises

Load too wet Wrong cycle used; Cold rinse used Select higher spin cycle; Cold rinses naturally leave loads wetter
Residue or lint on load Improper sorting; Overloaded washer; Paper/tissue in pockets; Not enough detergent; Water too cold Sort lint givers/takers; Wash smaller loads; Check pockets; Use sufficient detergent; Use warmer water if needed
Stains on load Improper detergent/softener use; Iron in water; Improper sorting; Unloaded too late Follow directions; Install iron filter; Sort properly; Unload promptly
Load is wrinkled Unloaded too late; Wrong cycle used; Overloaded washer; Wash water not warm enough; Hoses reversed Unload promptly; Use appropriate cycle; Balance load; Use warm/hot wash water; Check hose connections
Load is tangled or twisted Overloaded washer; Items wrapped around agitator Balance load; Drop items loosely
Gray whites, dingy colors Improper sorting; Wash temperature too low; Insufficient detergent/hard water; Hoses reversed Sort properly; Use hot/warm water; Use adequate detergent; Check hose connections
