Preparing for Installation: Ensure all ordered equipment is received, register hardware online, and prepare a static-free work area. Gather necessary tools like a Phillips screwdriver, flashlight, and ESD strap.
Hardware Installation: Install rack rails, then carefully mount the storage shelves into the rack, securing them with screws. Install drives by gently positioning them into the drive slots until they click. Attach the front bezel.
Cabling: Connect power cables to shelves and controller, then to power distribution units. Connect SAS cables between controller and drive shelves according to your configuration (Direct-attach or Fabric topology).
System Setup: Connect management ports to the network via DHCP or static IP. Configure network settings using ThinkSystem System Manager, set a password, and verify connectivity.
Troubleshooting and error codes
