Operating Your Cooktop

Activating the Cooktop: Touch the POWER ON/OFF pad for about 2 seconds to turn the cooktop on. Within 15 seconds, select a Cooking Zone by touching its ON pad, then set the desired power level from 1 to 9 within 10 seconds. To turn the cooktop off, touch the POWER ON/OFF pad.

Using Cooking Zones: Select a Cooking Zone, touch ON, and set the power level. The residual heat indicator will light up when the zone is hot.

Warming Zone: Use to keep food warm. Activate by touching the WARMING ZONE ON pad and setting the power level.

Special Features: The Triple Cooking Zone (LCE3610SB only) offers three sizes. The Dual Cooking Zone offers two sizes. Child Lock prevents accidental activation.

Cleaning: Use only ceramic cooktop cleaner. For burned-on residue, use a metal scraper. Never use abrasive pads.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Causes Solutions
Cooktop does not work • Cooktop controls are locked. • See USING CHILD LOCK to turn off the CHILD LOCK feature.
• Circuit breaker has tripped or fuse is blown. • Reset the circuit breaker.
• Power outage. • Check house lights to confirm power outage.
• Installation wiring not complete. • Contact the installer or dealer.
Cooktop does not heat • Incorrect Cooking Zone selected. • Make sure the correct control is ON for the Cooking Zone being used.
• No power to cooktop. • See "Cooktop does not work" above.
Elements turn off while cooking. • Cooktop inner temperature too High. • Check that cooktop has been installed According to the installation instructions.
Elements do not get hot enough. • Touch controls may not be set properly. • Check the power level.
• Cookware may not be shape or flat or the correct size. • Use the recommended cookware. See the page 8-9.
A fan sound can be heard. • Cooktop inner temperature is High. • This is normal. The cooling fan will run when any element is turned on. With the heavy use the fan may continue to run after the controls are turned off until the cooktop has cooled.
Flashing • There is a fault with thermistor or Micom. • Turn the cooktop off using the Power ON/OFF. Turn cooktop back on using the Power ON/OFF.
• Food spill/soil on touchpads.
• Object placed on touchpad.
• Touch time is long.
• Clean the surface.
• Remove object from the touch pad.
• If any one of the keys is touched for more than 10 seconds continuously, this error will be displayed.
• If water or a metal object is placed on the touchpad this error will be displayed.
• There is a fault with Display. • Turn the cooktop off using the Power ON/OFF. Turn cooktop back on using the Power ON/OFF.
• Low voltage detection • This represents low voltage to the cooktop. Call a licensed electrician.
