Before Use
  • Frost can form if the door is not closed completely or if humidity is high.
  • Ensure sufficient space between food for complete door closure.
  • Opening the door for long periods can significantly increase internal temperature.
  • If the appliance is left empty, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the door open to prevent mould.
  • A temperature rise after defrosting is permissible within specifications; seal food for minimal impact.
Door Open Alarm
Sounds 3 times in 30-second intervals if the door is open for 1 minute. Contact LG if alarm continues after closing doors.
High Temperature Alarm
Warns when freezer temperature is problematic, indicated by flashing LED and alarm.
Sounds when: appliance is turned on for the first time, freezer door is open long/frequently, power outage, or hot food is placed inside.
Turning off the Alarm
Press the Freezer button.
Suggestion for Energy Saving
Keep inner parts in original locations. Ensure space between foods for even cold air circulation. Store hot food after cooling. Set freezer temperature lower than indicated on food when storing.
Storing Foods Effectively
  • Set correct temperature.
  • Store frozen/refrigerated food in sealed containers.
  • Check expiration dates.
  • Do not store food for long periods if it spoils easily at low temperatures.
  • Do not place unfrozen food in direct contact with frozen food.
  • Place refrigerated/frozen food immediately after purchasing.
  • Store raw meat/fish in suitable containers.
  • Refrigerated foods can be stored on top of the vegetable drawer.
  • Avoid refreezing completely thawed food.
  • Cool hot food before storing.
  • Do not overfill the appliance.
  • Do not set excessively low temperatures.
  • Do not store vegetables/fruits with high moisture in chill compartments to prevent freezing.
Freezing the Maximum Amount of Food
Remove drawers and stack food directly on shelves for large quantities. CAUTION: Remove food before removing drawers. NOTE: Insert all drawers for better air circulation.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptoms Possible Causes & Solution
No refrigeration or freezing. Is there a power interruption? Check power supply for other appliances. Appliance is unplugged. Plug in correctly. House fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped? Check the main electrical panel and replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. Do not increase fuse capacity. If the problem is a circuit overload, consult a qualified electrician. Reset GFCI circuit breaker. If the problem persists, contact an electrician.
Refrigeration or freezing is weak. Is the refrigerator or freezer set to the highest temperature? Set the refrigerator or freezer temperature to a colder level. Is the appliance in direct sunlight or near a heat-generating object? Check the installation area and reinstall away from heat-generating objects. Have hot foods been stored without prior cooling? Cool hot foods before placing them in the refrigerator or freezer. Have too many foods been stored? Keep adequate space between foods. Are the appliance doors closed completely? Close the door completely and ensure stored foods do not obstruct the door.
Appliance has an unpleasant odor inside. Were foods with strong odors introduced? Store foods with strong odors in sealed containers. Were vegetables or fruits in the drawer spoiled? Discard spoiled vegetables and clean the vegetable drawer. Do not store vegetables for too long in the vegetable drawer.
