Makita tools are warranted free of defects for ONE YEAR from original purchase date.
Depth Adjustment: Press lock lever, lower tool until bit touches surface, release lever. Loosen stopper pole setting nut. Press fast-feed button, lower stopper pole to contact adjusting hex bolt, align depth pointer to "0". Press fast-feed button, raise stopper pole to desired depth. Use adjusting knob for fine adjustments. Tighten stopper pole setting nut. Predetermined depth is achieved by pressing lock lever and lowering tool body until stopper pole contacts stopper block hex bolt.
Nylon Nut Adjustment: Adjusts upper limit of tool body. Lower nylon nut if bit protrudes dangerously or is retracted too much.
Stopper Block Adjustment: Has three hex bolts to set different depths of cut. Adjust lowest bolt for deepest cut, others for shallower cuts. Loosen hex nuts, turn hex bolts, then tighten nuts. Useful for multi-pass grooving.
Switch Action: Ensure tool is OFF before plugging in. Switch can be locked ON. Move lever to "I" to start, "O" to stop.
