Warranty Information

Refer to the enclosed warranty card for detailed warranty conditions.

Safety Notes

  • Use only with compatible operating systems (Märklin AC, Märklin Delta, Märklin Digital or DCC).
  • Do not power from multiple transformers.
  • Follow operating system safety instructions.
  • For conventional operation, use the 74046 interference suppression set.
  • Avoid direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
  • Be aware of sharp edges and points. LEDs comply with Laser Class 1.

Important Notes

  • Keep operating instructions and packaging.
  • Do not open the locomotive for maintenance; this voids the warranty. Contact a Märklin dealer for repairs/parts.
  • Refer to the warranty card for conditions.

Functions

  • Mfx technology for Mobile/Central Station. Factory settings: Shay No. 5 WM, MM 05 / DCC 03.
  • Automatic system recognition (mfx priority).
  • Protocols can be deactivated via CV 50.
  • Set parameters (address, acceleration/braking, speed) via Control Unit, Mobile Station, or Central Station.
  • Directional headlights.
  • Various controllable functions.
  • Locomotive Engineer mode (see supplemental instructions).
  • Analog operation: smoke, running, and light changeover functions only.
  • Recommended for curves with radius > R1 (360 mm).

Controllable Functions

See page 7 for a table detailing controllable functions and their assignments to function keys (F0-F24) across different control systems (6021, MS II, CS I, CS II/III).

CV Parameters

See page 20 for a table of programmable variables (CVs) including Address, Acceleration/Braking Delay, Maximum Speed, Reset to Series Value, Alternative Protocols, and Volume.

CV 50 Alternative Protocols

See page 21 for a table showing which protocols (Analog AC/DC, DCC/MM) can be activated/deactivated.

Smoke Generator

Fill only halfway with smoke fluid. Ensure no air bubbles. Check connecting wire for clean contact.

Coupling

Close coupler (72000) required for cars with lower buffer height for trouble-free coupling.

Maintenance

Lubricate specific points every 40 hours (page 27) and 20 hours (page 28) using Märklin grease (7149) and Trix lubricant (66626).

Troubleshooting and error codes

Potential Problems Description
Smoke Generator Cannot be filled more than halfway with smoke fluid. No air bubbles. Ensure clean contact of the connecting wire.
