Familiarize yourself with the Miele electronic freezer, its buttons, indicator lights, and components like drawers and marker systems.
\n\nClean the appliance before first use. Allow it to stand for 1/2 to 1 hour before connecting. Press the On/Off button to switch on. Bars appear on the display, and the appliance starts cooling. Allow it to run for a few hours before adding food. Press the On/Off button to switch off; the display goes out, and cooling stops. If not, the safety lock may be engaged.
\n\nActivate the safety lock to prevent accidental switching off by pressing and holding the Super freeze button, then the Super freeze button again, and finally a temperature button, followed by the Super freeze button again. To deactivate, press and hold the Super freeze button, then the Super freeze button again, and then a temperature button, followed by the On/Off button.
\n\nIf not using the appliance for a while, switch it off, unplug it, defrost and clean it, and leave the door ajar.
\n\nSetting the correct temperature is crucial. Use the +/- buttons to select the desired temperature between -14°C and -28°C. The temperature display shows the temperature in the warmest part of the appliance and flashes if the temperature changes or if there is a loss of coldness.
\n\nThe appliance has a warning system that alerts you if the temperature rises. The alarm sounds, and the display flashes if the door is left open or if large quantities of food are being frozen. The alarm can be switched off early by pressing the On/Off button.
\n\nUse the Super freeze function to freeze fresh food quickly, preserving its nutritional value. Switch it on 4-6 hours (for small quantities) or 24 hours (for maximum load) before freezing. The SF indicator light comes on. The function switches off automatically or can be switched off manually.
\n\nFreeze food as quickly as possible to maintain quality. Do not exceed the maximum freezing capacity. Store frozen food properly, checking packaging and dates. For home freezing, only use fresh food in good condition. Suitable foods include meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, etc. Unsuitable foods include grapes, lettuce, and sour cream. Blanch vegetables before freezing. Do not season fresh foods. Pack food in portions. Expel air from packaging. Note contents and freezing date.
\n\nIce and frost accumulate over time. Defrost when ice is about 5mm thick. Before defrosting, switch on Super freeze, remove food, and unplug. To speed up defrosting, a bowl of hot water can be placed inside. After defrosting, clean, dry, and reconnect. Switch on Super freeze to cool down before returning food.
\n\nUse warm water with washing-up liquid for cleaning. Do not use abrasive agents. Ensure water does not get into electronic units. Clean ventilation gaps regularly. Clean the door seal with water only. Clean the metal grille at the back annually.
