Refer to the warranty card for specific details on your Miele appliance warranty.
Clean the interior and accessories with a mild detergent. If transported horizontally, allow the appliance to stand upright for at least 8 hours before turning it on. To turn on/off, use the main switch located under the control panel. The appliance starts cooling once switched on. Interior lights come on when doors are open. Preset temperatures are reached after a few hours; do not load food until then. Turning off the main switch does not fully disconnect power.
Operate via touch keys. An available button is white, selected is yellow. Touch the access button "ℓ" to activate the control panel. Sensor buttons for zones appear. Adjust temperature, select SuperCool, set SmartFresh drawers by food type, or turn on the ice maker. To de-select a zone, touch its button again. To exit the settings menu, touch the access button "ℓ" again. Settings are stored.
The appliance has an alarm system for temperature rise or open doors. If the temperature becomes too warm or a door is left open for over 5 minutes, an audible alarm sounds and the "alarm" indicator turns red. To silence early, press the "alarm" sensor button. The alarm condition must be corrected for the indicator to go out.
Refrigerator and freezer sections can be set independently. Touch the access button "ℓ" then the sensor button for the desired section. Use the V and ^ buttons to adjust temperature. The display shows the desired temperature. Allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize after adjustment.
These drawers maintain optimal temperature and humidity for longer freshness. Select the drawer and desired food type(s) using sensor buttons. Left drawer is for humid conditions (vegetables, fruit); right is for dry conditions (meat, fish, dairy). Do not mix food types requiring different humidity levels. Similar foods should be stored together. Store unwrapped food in the humid drawer. Adjust refrigerator temperature if SmartFresh zone temperature is too high or low. Avoid water accumulation at the bottom.
Different zones exist due to air circulation. Use the warmest area (top door shelf) for butter/cheese. Use the coldest areas (above SmartFresh drawers) for highly perishable foods like fish, meat, poultry. Do not store explosive materials or high-proof alcohol loosely. Avoid storing cooking oil in the door. Do not let food touch the rear wall. Ensure air circulation by not packing food too tightly.
Freeze fresh food as quickly as possible. Never refreeze thawed food. Before freezing large amounts, use the SuperCool function. Food can be placed anywhere in the freezer. Use baskets for large quantities. Spread food evenly for quick freezing. Ensure packaging is dry to prevent sticking. Keep fresh and frozen food separate.
Frozen food can be defrosted in a microwave, at room temperature, in the refrigerator, or in a steam oven. Observe strict hygiene when defrosting poultry. Fruit should be defrosted at room temperature. Most vegetables can be cooked from frozen.
Use the SuperCool function. Do not leave bottles in the freezer for more than 1 hour to prevent bursting.
