What to do if... Check whether...
... a programme will not start.

  • "door" appears in the display (door not opened for approx. 20 mins).
  • the appliance is plugged in and switched on.
  • the mains fuse has tripped or is faulty.
... a noise can be heard after a cooking programme. This is not a fault. The cooling fan runs to prevent humidity build-up and switches off automatically.
... the display does not light up.
  • the time of day display has been switched off (press and hold the button).
  • the time of day display is programmed to switch off at night.
... the turntable does not turn smoothly.
  • the area underneath the roller ring is clean.
  • the surfaces between the turntable and the carrier are clean.
... food is not adequately defrosted, heated or cooked.
  • the correct power level was selected for the duration.
  • the programme was interrupted and not restarted.
... the microwave operation works but not the lighting. You can operate as normal, but contact Miele for lighting issues.
... strange noises are heard when the microwave oven is being used.
  • the food is covered with aluminium foil (remove it).
  • crockery with a metallic finish is used (see notes on suitable containers).
... the time of day in the display is not accurate. A power cut may have occurred; reset the correct time of day.
... food cools down too quickly. Select a lower power level and lengthen the duration, especially for plated meals.
... the microwave switches itself off during a cooking, reheating or defrosting programme. Check for blocked air inlet/outlet. The appliance may have overheated. Continue after cooling down. If it repeats, call Miele.
