1. Prepare the laundry: Sort laundry by fibre type, dryness level, size, and moisture content. Fasten duvet covers, zip up items, tie belts, and sew in or remove bra underwiring. Ensure no detergent dispenser balls are present.

2. Load the drum and switch on the dryer: Open the door, load laundry loosely, and close the door securely. Switch on the dryer using the 'I-On/0-Off' button.

3. Select a programme: Turn the programme selector to the desired programme.

4. Start the programme: Press the START button. The drying cycle begins, indicated by sequence lamps. A cooling down phase with 'Cool air' illumination follows.

5. At the end of a programme: An indicator lamp and buzzer signal the end. The drum may continue rotating for anti-crease. Press the Door button, remove laundry, clean the filter, close the door, and switch off the dryer.

Interrupting a programme: Switch off using 'I-On/0-Off'. To resume, switch on and press START. Some programmes may continue after cooling/anti-crease.

Adding or removing items: Open the door, add/remove items, close the door, and press START to resume.

Cancelling a programme: Turn the selector to 'Finish' or open the door.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Fault Possible cause Remedy
The appliance fails to start when switched on. No obvious cause. Have you followed the switch-on procedure correctly? Is the plug correctly inserted and switched on? Is the door closed properly? Has the plug or circuit breaker tripped?
Items made of synthetic fibres are charged with static electricity after drying. Static charge can be reduced by adding a fabric conditioner to the final rinse in the washing machine or a fabric conditioner sheet to the load in the dryer.
There is a build up of fluff. Fluff is principally the result of friction when garments are being worn and washed. Machine drying hardly causes any fluff to form and has no effect on the lifetime of fabric. Fluff is collected by the fluff filters and can be easily removed (see "Cleaning and Care").
The laundry is not sufficiently dry. The load consisted of different fabrics. Select a more suitable drying programme next time (see "Programme chart").
The interior drum lighting does not come on. The lighting switched off automatically. The lighting only comes on when the door is opened if the dryer is switched on. It will switch off after a short while if the door is left open. This is to save electricity.
The interior drum lighting does not come on. The lamp may be defective. Change the lamp as described at the end of this section.
The drying process goes on too long or even switches off. Important: Before attempting to remedy one of the following causes, switch the dryer off and switch on again to start the programme again.
Ventilation to the dryer is insufficient (e.g. because it is installed in a room which is too small). Open a door or window while the machine is in operation for increased air flow.
The laundry was not sufficiently spun. Make sure that your laundry is thoroughly spun before drying.
The tumble dryer has been overloaded. Do not exceed the maximum load for the programme selected.
Metallic components, e.g. zips have prevented the dryer from registering the correct moisture level in the laundry. In future select a Timed drying programme for these garments.
The fluff filter may be blocked. Clean the fluff filter.
The vent ducting or the ventilation outlet is blocked. Check all parts of the extraction system on a regular basis (e.g. wall vent, external grille, bends in the ducting etc.) and make sure they are all free of any hindrance. Remove any fluff.
The programme has stopped, the Anti-crease/Finish lamp has come on in the sequence display and the buzzer is sounding. This is not a fault. The electronics register whether there is laundry in the drum after the start of a COTTONS or MINIMUM IRON programme. If the drum is empty the programme is stopped. The programme will also be stopped if the laundry is dry when the programme is started or if you are trying to dry an individual item. Use the Timed drying programme (Warm air) to dry individual items.
The programme has been interrupted, the indicator lamp for Hand iron or Machine iron is flashing, and the buzzer sounds. There is no obvious cause. Switch off the dryer. Then switch the dryer back on and start the programme again. If the programme stops again and an indicator lamp flashes, there is a fault. Contact the Miele Service Department.
