General Information

  • Repairs should be performed by trained technicians in accordance with codes.

Cleaning and Care

  • Vacuums and Accessories: Clean with a damp cloth or a plastic cleaner. Do not use abrasive or all-purpose cleaning solutions.
  • Dust Compartment: Clean with another vacuum, a dry cloth, or brush. Monitor the bag change indicator and inspect filters regularly, replacing as needed.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Fault/Symptom Possible Cause Remedy
Dirty Dustbag Compartment (S 27x and S 28x Only) Dustbags, Old and New Versions: Raised rim on dustbag collar may indent/deform sealing ring on dust guide. Dustbag without raised rim may not form a tight seal. Replace the dust guide sealing ring (part no. 3430580).
Poor Suction Performance (S 27x and S 28x) Motor seal has slipped. Install the motor seal holder (part no. 3840800) onto the mounting panel from below.
Motor Does Not Operate (S 345i and S 445i) Worn motor brushes; appliance cannot be switched on. Voltage is applied to "Control" on the EDW 445 control module. Replace the brushes.
