Startup protection:
When switched on, the machine will not start up after voltage breakdown. To continue working, switch the machine off and then on again.
Safety Warnings Common for Grinding, Sanding, Wire Brushing or Abrasive Cutting-Off Operations:
This power tool is intended to function as a grinder, sander, wire brush or cut-off tool. Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
- Do not use accessories which are not specifically designed and recommended by the tool manufacturer.
- The rated speed of the accessory must be at least equal to the maximum speed marked on the power tool.
- The outside diameter and the thickness of your accessory must be within the capacity rating of your power tool.
- Threaded mounting of accessories must match the grinder spindle thread.
- Do not use a damaged accessory.
- Wear personal protective equipment.
- Keep bystanders a safe distance away from work area.
- Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces only.
- Position the cord clear of the spinning accessory.
- Never lay the power tool down until the accessory has come to a complete stop.
- Do not run the power tool while carrying it at your side.
- Regularly clean the power tool's air vents.
- Do not operate the power tool near flammable materials.
- Do not use accessories that require liquid coolants.
Kickback and Related Warnings:
Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched or snagged rotating wheel, backing pad, brush or any other accessory. Take precautions to avoid kickback.
Safety Warnings Specific for Grinding and Abrasive Cutting-Off Operations:
Use only wheel types recommended for your power tool and the specific guard. Do not grind with the side of a cut-off wheel. Ensure the grinding surface of center depressed wheels is below the guard lip.
Safety Warnings Specific for Sanding Operations:
Do not use excessively oversized sanding disc paper.
Safety Warnings Specific for Wire Brushing Operations:
Be aware that wire bristles are thrown by the brush. Do not overstress the wires. Ensure guard does not interfere with the brush.
Additional Safety and Working Instructions:
Grinding metal produces sparks. Ensure no persons are endangered. Do not use dust extraction. Immediately switch off the machine if considerable vibrations occur. Use a ground fault interrupter in certain conditions. Chips and splinters must not be removed while the machine is running.
Mains Connection:
Connect only to single-phase AC system voltage indicated on the rating plate. Use a residual current device if connecting in wet locations or outdoors. Only plug in when machine is switched off.
Specified Conditions of Use:
The angle grinder is intended for grinding and cutting metal, stone and ceramic materials, as well as sanding and wire brushing. Use the cutting guard for cutting applications. Machine is suitable only for working without water.
Working Instructions:
Ensure correct wheel mounting and guard usage. Always use the auxiliary handle. Fix the workpiece if it is not heavy enough to be steady.
Electronics:
Built-in electronic maintains constant speed under load. Overload protection stops the machine if overloaded. It will automatically accelerate back to operating speed when load is removed.
Restart Protection:
Machines with a lockable switch prevent restarting by themselves after a power failure. Switch off and then on again to resume work.
Soft Start:
Electronic soft start prevents jerky run-up.
Maintenance:
Keep ventilation slots clear. Replace damaged supply cord through authorized service. Use only Milwaukee accessories and spare parts.
