Getting Started

Mounting the Dash Cam: Clean the windscreen, attach the static cling film, then mount the device. Route the cables carefully, ensuring they do not interfere with driving or safety features. Adjust the angle for optimal view.

Powering On/Off: The dash cam turns on automatically when the vehicle engine starts. Follow on-screen prompts for initial setup (language, date/time, distance unit).

Recording Modes:

  • Continuous Recording: Automatically starts after power-on. Can be manually stopped. Records in segments; overwrites oldest files when full.
  • Event Recording: Triggered automatically by the G-sensor (impacts, sudden stops) or manually by pressing the Event button. Saves a short duration before and after the event.
  • Parking Mode: Records motion or impacts when parked. Supports Smart Mode (G-sensor/motion detection, requires external power) and Passive Powered Mode (G-sensor only, uses internal battery).

Other Features: Take photos, playback recordings, use safety camera alerts, connect to the MiVue Pro app via WiFi for viewing, sharing, and backup.

Customising Settings: Adjust video quality, sound recording, driving safety features (LDWS, FCWS, etc.), and parking mode settings.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Solution
Dash cam stops responding or appears "frozen". Perform a hardware reset by inserting a small rod (like a straightened paperclip) into the Reset button.
Recording quality impacted. Ensure the car's windscreen is not tinted with a coating that affects recording. Keep the camera lens clean and free of obstructions.
GPS reception is poor or unavailable. Ensure the windscreen mount is in a "clear area". GPS signals cannot pass through solid materials (except glass). Avoid tunnels or buildings. Signal can be affected by bad weather or dense overhead obstacles.
Device overheating. Avoid sudden and severe temperature changes. Allow the device to dry out completely if moisture condensation occurs.
