General Precautions

  • Do not use refrigerant other than the type indicated in the manuals.
  • Do not install the unit in places with flammable gas, organic solvents, or corrosive gases.
  • Do not defeat safety features or make unauthorized setting changes.
  • Avoid splashing water on electric parts.
  • Do not operate electrical parts with wet hands.
  • Do not allow gas refrigerant and oil to be trapped in the circuit.
  • Avoid touching refrigerant pipes or components with bare hands during or after operation.
  • Keep children away during installation, inspection, or repair.
  • Keep the space well ventilated; refrigerant can displace air.
  • Replace fuses with correct current rating.
  • Properly install all covers and panels.
  • Do not place flammable materials around the unit.
  • Do not operate the unit without all required panels and guards.
  • Do not sit, stand, or place objects on the unit.
  • This unit is not intended for use with food, animals, plants, precision instruments, or art work.
  • Do not turn off the power immediately after stopping operation; leave it on for at least 5 minutes.
  • Do not install the unit over things vulnerable to water damage.

Installation Precautions

  • Do not install where there is a risk of leaking flammable gas.
  • Install units where they are not accessible to unauthorized personnel.
  • Properly dispose of packing materials.
  • All drainage work should be performed by a qualified person.
  • Remove packing materials before operating the unit.
  • Do not install over things vulnerable to water damage; provide adequate drainage.
  • Consult a dealer for refrigerant leakage safeguards.
  • Only use specified parts installed by a qualified person.
  • Take safety measures against wind gusts and earthquakes.
  • Install on a strong, stable surface.
  • Periodically check the installation base for damage.
  • Keep small animals, snow, and rain water from entering the unit.
  • Drainage work must be performed by a qualified person.
