| Troubleshooting Issue | Possible Solution |
|---|---|
| Operation by battery | Ensure batteries are correctly installed or replace them. |
| No dial tone | Check installation steps, power cord connection, telephone line cords, and hook switch. Test with another phone. |
| Dial tone is ok, but can't dial out | Verify correct dial mode setting. |
| Phone does not ring | Ensure ringer is ON, Do Not Disturb is OFF, and check for too many extension phones or registration issues. |
| Cannot be heard by the other party | Ensure Mute is OFF and headset/handset cord is properly inserted. |
| Incoming voice too low or none at all | Check call volume setting. |
| Static, noise, or fading in and out | Ensure base station is not plugged into an outlet with other appliances. Relocate base if necessary. |
| One-Touch Memory / Directory dialing doesn't work | Verify correct programming of memory keys and proper phone number formatting. |
| No Caller ID | Subscribe to Caller ID service from your local telephone company. |
| No Display | Ensure unit is connected to a non-switched electrical outlet and reconnect power adaptor. |
| Date/Time setting is restored to default setting | This may be caused by power failure. Set Date/Time again. |
| Intercom does not function correctly | Ensure all extension phones are properly registered with the base and are within range, with no major interference sources. |
| OUT OF RANGE shows on the handset display | Move handset closer to the base. Ensure base power cord is connected. |
| Causes of poor reception | Aluminum siding, foil insulation, metal construction, proximity to appliances, storms, basement installation, shared outlets, or baby monitors using the same frequency can cause poor reception. Ensure hook switch is up and batteries are good. |
