The RFS6000 Series RF Switch provides centralized Wireless LAN (WLAN) configuration and management by coalescing network intelligence. It replaces access points with simpler access ports, becoming a single point of contact for the WLAN. This reduces complexity by moving management out of the ceiling and into the wiring closet. The Virtual AP architecture allows creation of multiple WLANs without altering existing wired infrastructure. This guide is for the network device installer. It covers package contents, document conventions, warnings, site preparation, specifications, LED codes, hardware setup (cabling, installation of SFP, USB devices, rack mounting, console port, power supply), and regulatory information.
