Troubleshooting and error codes
| Problem | Possible Cause/Solution |

| Operation by battery | Unit enters Battery Operation Mode when power cord is unplugged. Intended for temporary use during power outages. |
| REPLACE BATTERY shows in the display | Batteries need replacing or are improperly installed/not installed. |
| No dial tone | Check installation steps. Ensure base power cord is connected. Check telephone line cords. Ensure hook switch pops up. Disconnect base and test another phone. Problem may be wiring or local service. |
| Dial tone is ok, but can't dial out | Ensure phone is set to the correct dial mode. |
| Phone does not ring | Ensure ringer is ON. Ensure DND is not activated. Too many extension phones on the line. |
| You cannot be heard by the other party | Ensure Mute feature is not ON. Ensure handset/headset cord is properly inserted. |
| Incoming voice too low or none at all | Check call volume setting. |
| Static, noise, or fading in and out | Ensure base station is not plugged into an outlet with other appliances. Relocate base if necessary. |
| One-Touch Memory / Directory dialing doesn't work | Check if memory location keys were programmed correctly. Ensure phone number is formatted properly. |
| No Caller ID | Subscribe to Name/Number Caller ID service from your local telephone company. |
| No Display | Ensure unit is connected to a non-switched electrical outlet. Disconnect and reconnect power adaptor. |
| Date/Time setting is restored to default setting | May be caused by power failure. Set Date/Time again. |
| Intercom does not function correctly | Ensure extension phones are registered with the base. Ensure phones are within range and there are no interference sources. |
| Causes of poor reception | Aluminum siding, foil backing on insulation, heating ducts, proximity to appliances (microwaves, stoves), atmospheric conditions, basement installation, plugged into outlet with other electronics, baby monitor interference, hook switch issues, low batteries. |
