Using the Handset

To answer a call, simply pick up the handset or press the talk key. To make a call, press the talk key, then dial the number, or use a programmed function key. The handset automatically hangs up when placed in the charging unit. If away from the charging unit, press talk to hang up.

Base Unit Controls

The base unit has a Cordless Key to initiate cordless operation, a Desk Key to switch to desk mode when associated with a multiline terminal, and a Power Indicator.

Special Features

The phone supports features like Hold, Mute, Transfer, and Conference calls. The keypad can be locked and unlocked for security. Refer to specific sections for detailed operations on programming function keys, setting up conference calls, and managing keypad lock.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Suggestion
Charge 1 light will not come on when the handset is placed in the charging unit.
  • Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the charging unit and wall outlet.
  • Make sure the handset is properly seated in the charging unit.
  • Make sure the lead-acid battery pack is properly placed on the handset.
  • Make sure that the charging contacts on the handset and charging unit are clean.
Charge 2 light will not come on when the spare battery is placed in the charging unit (low battery only).
  • Make sure the AC adapter is plugged into the charging unit and wall outlet.
  • Make sure the spare battery is properly seated in the base unit.
  • Make sure the charging contacts on the handset and charging unit are clean.
Conversation is interrupted frequently.
  • Make sure the base unit antenna is fully vertical.
  • Move closer to the base unit.
  • Check for low batt warning.
Warning tone and NO SERVICE message
  • Move closer to the base unit.
Handset does not ring
  • The lead-acid battery may be weak. Charge the battery pack for eight hours.
  • Make sure the base unit antenna is fully vertical.
  • The handset may be too far from the base unit.
