Troubleshooting and error codes

Issue Possible Cause Solution
No picture Signal cable not connected properly. Connect signal cable properly to display card/computer.
Display card not seated properly. Ensure display card is properly seated in its slot.
Power switches are off. Turn on monitor and computer power switches.
Unsupported mode selected. Consult display card or system manual to change graphics mode.
Incompatible settings. Check monitor and display card compatibility and recommended settings.
Bent or pushed-in pins. Check signal cable connector for bent or pushed-in pins.
Power Button does not respond Monitor needs reset. Unplug the power cord from the AC outlet to turn off and reset the monitor.
Image persistence Image displayed for too long. Turn off the monitor for the same duration the image was displayed. Use moving images or screen savers.
Image is unstable, unfocused or swimming is apparent Signal cable not attached properly. Ensure signal cable is properly attached.
Incorrect clock phase total. Use OSD controls to adjust clock phase total.
Incompatible signal timings. Check monitor and display card compatibility with recommended signal timings.
Garbled text. Change to non-interlaced video mode and use 60Hz refresh rate.
Image of component signal is greenish DVD/HD input not selected. Check if the DVD/HD input connector is selected.
LED on monitor is not lit Main Power Switch off or power cord disconnected. Ensure Main Power Switch is ON and power cord is connected.
Computer in power-saving mode. Wake up the computer by touching the keyboard or mouse.
Red LED on monitor is blinking Internal failure. Contact authorized NEC DISPLAY SOLUTIONS service facility.
Display image is not sized properly Incorrect clock total. Use OSD controls to increase or decrease clock total.
Unsupported mode selected. Consult display card or system manual to change graphics mode.
Selected resolution is not displayed properly Incorrect resolution selected. Use OSD information to confirm and select the appropriate resolution.
"SCHEDULE SETTINGS" / "OFF TIMER" functions not working properly "OFF TIMER" set. "SCHEDULE SETTINGS" is disabled when "OFF TIMER" is set.
Power interruption. If power is interrupted while "OFF TIMER" is enabled, it will be reset.
No Sound Speaker cable not connected. Check speaker cable connection.
Mute activated. Check if mute is activated.
Volume too low. Check if volume is set to minimum.
RS-232C does not work Monitor in "Eco Standby" mode. Ensure the monitor is not in "Eco Standby" mode.
Remote Control does not work Batteries inserted improperly. Ensure batteries are inserted properly.
Weak batteries. Test batteries for strength/life.
Not pointed at sensor. Point the remote directly at the monitor sensor.
Remote in Remote ID mode. Check if the remote is in Remote ID mode.
Direct sunlight or strong illumination. Remote may not function in direct sunlight or strong illumination.
Snowy Picture, Poor Sound in TV Antenna/cable connection issue. Check antenna/cable connection. Use new cable if necessary.
Interference in TV Component shielding issue. Check components for shielding. Move them away from the monitor if necessary.
