Setting Up the Printer
- Unpack the printer and verify all components are present.
- Connect the power cord and the bi-directional parallel cable.
- Install the print cartridges (black and color).
- Initialize the print cartridges by pressing and holding the Power and Paper buttons.
- Load paper into the Main Paper Tray or Input/Output Paper Tray.
- Adjust paper guides to fit the loaded paper.
- Connect the printer to the computer and install the printer driver software using the NEC Meta Installer or Windows Plug-and-Play.
- Select an operating profile (Primary or Optional).
Printer Operator Panel
The Operator Panel has Power and Paper buttons. The indicator light displays the printer's status (off, ready, printing, paused, error conditions).
Troubleshooting and error codes
