  • Switching On/Off: Use the MAIN POWER (ON/OFF) button to switch the set on. The indicator lights red in standby and green when on. Use the POWER button on the remote to return to standby. For extended periods, use the MAIN POWER button.
  • On Screen Display Menu: Use the MENU button to access the main menu. PR UP/DOWN buttons navigate menus and change data. VOLUME UP button accesses sub-menus and adjusts levels.
  • Language Selection: Access the Main menu, navigate to Language, press VOLUME UP to display languages, and use UP/DOWN to select.
  • Automatic Tuning: From the Main menu, go to Install, select Auto Setup, choose the country, and press the RIGHT button to start tuning.
  • Program Edit: Access Install, then Edit. Options include program assignment, deletion, moving, skipping, and naming stations.
  • Manual Channel Setting: Use NUMBER buttons or PR UP/DOWN to select a program number. In the Install menu, select Manual Tune, choose the picture system (PAL/SECAM), and use RIGHT/LEFT buttons to tune.
  • Fine Tuning: For poor signal, select Fine Tune in the Install menu and use RIGHT/LEFT buttons to adjust.
  • Tilt Function: Select Tilt in the Install menu and use RIGHT/LEFT buttons to level the picture, compensating for magnetic fields.
  • Picture Control: Access the Picture menu via MENU and RIGHT button. Adjust BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, COLOUR, SHARPNESS using LEFT/RIGHT buttons. Smart Picture Selection offers three preset modes.
  • Sound Control: Adjust VOLUME using VOLUME buttons or LEFT/RIGHT. MUTE turns sound off. Access Sound menu via MENU, navigate to Sound, and use RIGHT button to adjust settings like Equalizer, Pro Logic, Balance, Center/Surround, Test Noise, and Sound Mode.
  • Timer: Set the clock and wake-up time/program in the Timer menu. Auto clock setting is available in certain countries if teletext is received.
  • Screen Format: Press ZOOM to cycle through 16:9, 4:3, Zoom, Zoom+, Panorama.
  • Still Picture: Press STILL to freeze the picture.
  • Teletext: Press TEXT to switch on/off. Use NUMBER buttons to select pages, INDEX for overview, HOLD to freeze subpages, and SUBPAGE to call up specific subpages. Watch TV during Teletext by pressing CANCEL. REVEAL shows answers. SIZE changes character size. Brightness/Contrast can be adjusted in Teletext mode.

Troubleshooting and error codes

SYMPTOMS INSPECT ACTION
Neither picture nor sound: • Is power cord plugged in? • Press power button on front of TV.
• If the red power light is on, press the remote control power button. Red power light should turn green.
Picture is OK, but no sound: • Check if Volume Down is pressed.
• Check if the Volume control is set to the minimum position.
• Adjust the volume with Volume Up button.
Sound is OK, but no colour: • Check if the color control is set to the minimum position.
• Check if the program on air is in color, or in black and white.
• Check the antenna again.
• Check by turning on other channel programs.
• Refer to the color section again, and readjust the color.
Overlapped Picture Image: • Check if the antenna installation and its connection is OK.
• Check if the antenna direction is correct.
• Check if the "Fine Tuning" function is set up correctly.
• Direct the antenna toward the broadcasting station.
• Adjust the Fine Tuning function.
Picture has "Snow": • Check if the antenna is damaged or its connection is all right.
• Check if there is interference from car traffic or neon signs.
• Check if there is interference by other electronic devices, such as radio, telephone, etc.
• Correct the antenna faults or replace the connection cable.
• Keep magnetic or electronic devices away from the set.
Stripes on picture: - -
Bad stereo sound: • Long distance from the station or other radio waves could cause bad sound reception. • Shift the mode into Mono by using MTS button.
Operation disorder of Remote Control: • Check if the batteries are weak.
• Check Remote Control Sensor window.
• Get rid of objects blocking the TV sensor and Remote Control.
• Replace batteries or check if the electrodes are fitting properly in the compartment.
