Shooting

  • Monitor: Press the Monitor button to turn it on.
  • Easy Shooting: Use the "AUTO" mode on the Mode dial for automatic settings.
  • Disable Beep: Set Mode dial (except AUTO), press OK/Menu, select MODE MENU -> SETUP -> ■))) -> OFF.
  • Flash: Ensure the flash is popped up by pressing the Flash switch.
  • B&W/Sepia: Set Mode dial (except AUTO), press, select MODE MENU -> CAMERA -> FUNCTION -> BLACK&WHITE or SEPIA.
  • Backlight: Use Spot metering and lock focus/exposure by half-pressing the Shutter button, reframe, and fully press. AE lock is also an option.
  • Off-center Focus: Place subject in center, half-press Shutter to lock focus/exposure, reframe, and fully press.
  • A/S/M Modes:
    • A (Aperture priority): Set aperture manually for depth of field.
    • S (Shutter priority): Set shutter speed manually to control motion blur.
    • M (Manual exposure): Set both aperture and shutter speed.

Playback

  • Check Picture: Press Monitor button twice quickly. Erase by selecting YES with .
  • View on TV: Connect AV output to TV AV input using the AV cable.
  • Thumbnail Display: Set Mode dial to , move Zoom lever to "W". Select image with green frame using Arrow pad, move Zoom lever to "T". Adjust number of frames (4/9/16) in SETUP menu.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Why doesn't the flash fire, even though I'm in AUTO mode? Check that the flash is popped up. If not, press the Flash switch.
