Getting Ready
- Connect the AC adapter and power cord.
- Insert the Mini DV cassette tape.
- Turn on the power.
Shooting
- Set the selector to AUTO.
- Remove the lens cap.
- Look through the viewfinder.
- Press the START/STOP button to begin recording.
Checking Recordings
- Open the LCD monitor.
- Press the playback button to review the last few seconds of footage.
Removing the Tape
- Open the cassette cover.
- Remove the cassette tape.
- Close the cassette cover.
Turning Off the Power
- Turn the POWER lever to OFF.
- Disconnect the power cord.
Troubleshooting and error codes
| Issue | Cause | Solution |
| No power | Battery and AC adapter not connected properly. | Check connections. |
| Power shuts off for no apparent reason | Camera-recorder left in shooting pause mode for over 5 minutes. | Check TAPE PROTECT setting. |
| Power goes off as soon as it is turned on | Battery run out. | Recharge or replace battery. |
| Condensation formed. | Remove cassette and wait for it to dry. | |
| Battery runs down quickly | Battery not fully charged. | Charge until CHARGE lamp goes off. |
| Used in a cold place. | Operating time reduced in low temperatures. | |

| Battery cannot be charged | DC cord connected to AC adapter. | Disconnect DC cord. |
| Cannot record | Cassette tape tab in SAVE position. | Set tab to record position. |

| Condensation formed. | Remove cassette and wait for it to dry. | |
