Before use

  • Read the "Important Safeguards" and "Operating Precautions" sections carefully.
  • Prepare necessary accessories like battery, AC adapter, and Mini DV cassette tape.
  • Connect the AC power supply cord to the camera and a power outlet.
  • Insert the Mini DV cassette tape by sliding the EJECT switch and then closing the cassette holder.
  • Turn on the camera by moving the POWER switch to ON while pressing the lock release.
  • Look through the viewfinder and press the START/STOP button on the POWER switch to start shooting.

Checking operation

  • After purchase, check system operations by preparing items, connecting cords, and inserting a cassette tape.
  • Perform "Check what you have shot (rec check)" by pressing the REC CHECK button.
  • Eject the tape by sliding the EJECT switch and removing the cassette.
  • Turn off the unit by moving the POWER switch to OFF.
  • Disconnect the power cord by unplugging it from the power outlet and then detaching the battery connector.

Accessories

  • Ensure you have the battery, AC adapter, AC power supply cord, DC cord, wireless remote control, eye cup, microphone holder, microphone holder adapter, shoulder belt, lens cap strap, and Mini DV cassette tape.

DATE/TIME (camera) (VCR) Sets whether to display the date and time on the screen and whether to output from the VIDEO IN/OUT jack. OFF: The date and time are not displayed. TAPE BATTERY (camera) (VCR) Select ON to display the remaining tape and battery charge. ON OFF DISPLAY ASPECT (camera) (VCR) Select the aspect ratio of the LCD monitor and viewfinder. AUTO: Changes automatically to suit the recording or play mode. 4:3: Fixed at 4:3 16:9: Fixed at 16:9 There is a 10% overscan on the LCD when the setting is 16:9 (but not on the viewfinder). You will see the whole image on both the LCD and viewfinder when the setting is 4:3.
