Getting Started:
  1. Charge the battery using the AC adaptor.
  2. Attach the charged battery to the movie camera.
  3. Insert a cassette.
  4. Turn on the camera and press the record button.
  5. Switch to VCR mode to rewind and play back tapes.
  6. Turn off the camera.
Using the Viewfinder/LCD Monitor:
  • Adjust the viewfinder for clear viewing.
  • Open and adjust the LCD monitor for recording.
  • Adjust brightness and color levels.
CAMERA Mode - Recording:
  • Set the mode to [CAMERA].
  • Press the AUTO/MANUAL button to display [AUTO].
  • Press the record button to start recording. Press again to pause.
  • Switch to [OFF] to finish recording.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Movie Camera power cannot be turned on. Power source not connected correctly. Check if the power source is connected. (→ 10)
Movie Camera power is turned off automatically. Left in Recording Pause Mode for more than 6 minutes. The power turns off automatically to protect the tape and save battery power. (→ 18)
Movie Camera power does not stay on long enough. Battery low. Charge the Battery or attach a fully charged Battery. (→ 10)
Condensation occurred. Wait until the Condensation Indication disappears. (→ 51)
Battery runs down quickly. Battery not fully charged. Charge it with the AC Adaptor. (→ 10)
Using the Battery in an extremely cold place. Operating time becomes shorter in cold places. (→ 52)
Battery has worn out. If operating time is short even after full charge, the battery has worn out.
The Battery cannot be charged. DC Input Lead connected to AC Adaptor while charging. Disconnect the DC Input Lead.
Normal Recording does not start although power is supplied and Cassette is inserted. Accidental erasure prevention slider on Cassette is open. If open (set to [SAVE]), recording cannot be performed. (→ 12)
Tape wound to the end. Insert a new Cassette. (→ 12)
[VCR/OFF/CAMERA/M-CARD] Switch not set to [CAMERA]. Set the switch to [CAMERA]. (→ 18)
Condensation occurred. Wait until the Condensation Indication disappears. (→ 51)
Auto Focus Function does not work. Manual Focus Mode selected. If Auto Focus Mode is selected, focus is automatically adjusted. (→ 27)
Subjects/surroundings where Auto Focus does not operate correctly. Use Manual Focus Mode to adjust focus. (→ 56)
Audio dubbing cannot be performed. Accidental erasure prevention slider on Cassette is open. If open (set to [SAVE]), recording cannot be performed. (→ 12)
Attempting to edit tape recorded in LP Mode. LP Mode does not allow audio dubbing. (→ 19)
