Getting Started

  • Charging the Battery Pack: Plug in the AC adapter, insert the battery, and the CHARGE lamp will light. It goes out when charging is done.
  • Inserting a Cassette: Open the tape eject door, insert the cassette, and close the door.
  • Camera Recording: Set POWER to CAMERA, press RECORD/PAUSE to start, and again to pause.
  • Playback: Set POWER to VCR, press REWIND/SEARCH to rewind, and PLAY to start playback. Press STOP to end.
  • Setting the Clock: Navigate through the MENU to set Time Zone, Daylight Saving Time, Date, and Time.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Correction
No picture in EVF
  • Connect Power Source.
  • Set POWER to VCR or CAMERA.
  • Check for Dew Indication.
  • Use fully charged Battery.
  • Firmly connect all needed cables.
Video cassette cannot be inserted
  • Connect Power Source.
  • Insert cassette, window side facing out.
Video cassette cannot be removed
  • Connect Power Source.
  • Check for Dew Indication.
Operation buttons do not work
  • Make sure record tab is intact.
  • Check Battery Indicator.
Recording cannot be done
  • Check for Dew Indication.
  • Set FOCUS to AUTO.
  • Set POWER to CAMERA.
Auto Focus does not operate
  • Set unit to REC or Record/Pause mode.
Sound from microphone can't be monitored
  • Turn HIGH SPEED SHUTTER off.
Camera picture is too dark
  • Press UP ▲/DOWN▼ button during playback (Tracking Control).
No playback picture, or the playback picture is noisy or contains streaks
  • Set POWER to CAMERA, then set SELF DEMO: OFF in MENU screen to cancel Demo mode.
"Panasonic ITS TAPES PLAY IN YOUR VCR..." appears in EVF
  • A playback signal is not as stable as an off the air TV signal, so the top of your TV screen may appear bent or unstable during playback. This is called, "Horizontal AFC time constant change." To correct, slowly turn the TV horizontal hold control. If you TV does not have this control, or adjusting it does not help, contact your TV service center. (Some nominal service charges may be required.)
