Getting Started

Insert the Battery Pack

  1. Slide the Viewfinder backward and tilt it upward.
  2. Insert the Battery Pack and slide it down until it locks.

Insert Cassette

  1. Set POWER Switch to VCR or CAMERA.
  2. Slide TAPE EJECT to open the Cassette Compartment Cover.
  3. Insert a cassette record tab up, window side facing out.
  4. Press PUSH TO CLOSE to close the cover.

Camera Recording

  1. Set POWER Switch to CAMERA.
  2. Adjust the Vision Adjustment Control for your eyesight.
  3. Press LCD-OPEN to unlock and open the LCD monitor.
  4. Press REC/PAUSE to start recording.

Troubleshooting and error codes

Symptom Correction
No picture in the EVF or LCD Monitor...
  • Make sure the Power Source is connected.
  • Make sure the POWER switch is set to VCR or CAMERA.
  • Check the Dew Indicator.
  • Make sure the Battery is fully charged.
  • Make sure all necessary cables are connected correctly and firmly.
  • Make sure the Lens Cap is removed.
Video cassette cannot be inserted...
  • Make sure the Power Source is connected.
  • Insert the cassette record tab up, window side facing out.
Video cassette cannot be removed...
  • Make sure the Power source is connected.
  • Check the Dew Indicator.
No operation starts when operation buttons are pressed...
  • Make sure the record tab is closed.
  • Check the Battery Indication.
Recording cannot be done...
  • Make sure FOCUS is set to AUTO.
  • Make sure the unit is ON and set to CAMERA mode.
  • Make sure the unit is set to REC or REC/PAUSE mode.
Auto Focus does not operate...
Sound from microphone cannot be monitored...
  • Make sure the Audio on the VCR MENU is set to ST1.
Sound cannot be heard...
